Re: Backstrom
I'm just saying I think it's a fair deal. I agree the cap hit hurts and if that's not what you want to do with your cap that's cool. But to say it's not worth it I disagree with. 36 more pts is huge. And aside from FOW it's not like backstrom is a monster in periphs.

Strome + Kronwall + WPG 1st 2017

-And 64 pts in 61 games the previous season while Backstrom had 78 in 82. Backstrom career year 101 in 82 Kane 106 in 82. Aren't sample sizes fun?Handsome&FairMike wroteCOLONI'm just saying I think it's a fair deal. I agree the cap hit hurts and if that's not what you want to do with your cap that's cool. -Both are approximately the same age while Backstrom is 4 mil less. In a cap strapped league that is more than significant.
- Backstrom plays a premium position.
It's the only offer remotely in the ballpark of Backstrom's value, but it still isn't enough to get Backstrom.

Re: Backstrom
Call me crazy but that was 7 years ago. He's been ppg since. I'd definitely wager kane to continue scoring more than backstrom going forward and I think its fair to ask what have you done for me lately. I get the cap thing, but again I think depending on your team needs its a fair swap. Anyways not much more to say. Curious to see what ends up landing him, if anything at allCasperX22 wroteCOLON-And 64 pts in 61 games the previous season while Backstrom had 78 in 82. Re: Backstrom
in terms of real life skill/natural talent and shit, Kane is > Backstrom
in terms of BBKL impact, Backstrom is > Kane
For now anyway but I think Backstrom continues to score close to PPG or as I should say, 0.88-0.98 PPG as long as he's healthy til he's 40. He's like a Datsyuk in terms of BBKL impact. Good FOW and pts and shit.
What is there more to argue about

Re: Backstrom
Yet Kane, from the wing, had a bigger impact in the BBKL (and definitely in real life), he won more categories and by larger margins.
Re: Backstrom
Small samples matter when they suit your agenda and don't when they don't suit your agenda. If you seriously believed any of what you are saying, you would have offered Giroux by now when I said you could offer me Giroux. You wouldnt trade Backstrom for Kane 1-1 in my position either.Nick wroteCOLONYet Kane, from the wing, had a bigger impact in the BBKL (and definitely in real life), he won more categories and by larger margins.
Re: Backstrom
?
I'm shaking up my group. I think that's obvious in each thread I've made options. I like Giroux a lot, more than most ppl I believe - chose to keep him over Sid or Stamkos at last reshape of my group.
However there's no small sample size going on with Kane... Taking about PPg+ since 2012-13 no matter which period of time you choose to select, whereas that is NEVeR true on Backstrom.
Kane is a younger and more expensive, better player. He does not play C but does have a bigger impact on our categories from a position that is rarer to do so from.
No point to continue hammering -- clear you don't want Kane

Clearly I was out of my mind. Kane still worth more than Backstrom?
