Kopitar or Doughty...can't go wrong with either guy. I'm guessing Kopitar.

Doughty, easy
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Doesn't Doughty not ever wear an A now? Gotta be Kopitar.

All he said was that he thinks he recalls the Rangers being the favourites or something along those lines. Hardly evidence for or against.Mike wroteCOLONThis is an interesting line of thinking. Mik provided evidence that counters your claim, but it only entrenches your belief in the conspiracy. It's like bringing up fossils to a creationist ("God put those there to test our faith").KapG wroteCOLONYup, NHL did the ol' head fake.
Anyways, Whether it was or wasn't rigged doesn't bother me too much. I find it funnier how everyone just dismisses it like there is no chance it happened.

I didn't pretend to provide evidence either... even if there was I wouldn't feel like spending time looking for it when I remember it well enough for myself.KapG wroteCOLONAll he said was that he thinks he recalls the Rangers being the favourites or something along those lines. Rangers were only one of the many teams brought up by the conspiracy theorists, but the one that had more support iirc. Leafs were among others.
I still remember that lottery, when there were only 2 teams left I thought: there you go.. so much for all the conspiracy theories (none that I knew of were about Pens or Ducks).
Little I knew... more than 10 yrs later and they seem more alive than ever. Actually, the more time passes by, the less people remember what happened, the more people feel like those theories have legs.
When it ended up being Pittsburgh I simply thought.. that franchise is so lucky, they just got Malkin the year before.. somehow instead those that predicted a rigged lottery but never thought of the Penguins started to put the Penguins in their 'rigged theory'.
btw, I'm certainly not one of those always against the conspiracy theories, when there are evidencies that point in that direction... (I've seen more than enough Italian soccer growing up). And what happened with McDavid was only the last confirmation about how the NHL lottery seems to work..
by case (and teams' luck.. funny how the two teams that had Wayne & Mario got Connor & Sid)
Nor I am someone pro-NHL... I hope they get destroyed in the concussion lawsuit cause it's what they deserve.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
World Cup rosters out.
No Hall, Subban or Letang but hard to call anyone snubs when the team is that good.
Also no Kessel on US team which is just dumb, Shattenkirk and Faulk are better than Johnson and Niskanen too.

US team pretty typical... if they can't score they'll just crush/beat the hell out of you.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
I would have not called Hall either, but without thinking about it there should have been a better LHD option than Muzzin?
US selection are hilarious in a bad way, but I guess it was to be expected considering the minds making them were Torts+Lombardi+B.Burke... lol

I have to think some of the choices are based on the size of the ice compared to of this was an Olympic team. It looks like this team will have win games 2-1 or 1-0.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
I love that North America roster...I can't root for them over Team USA but I suppose they become my #2. Sweden is usually my #2 team.
I wonder if Murray has unseated Gibson as the #1 goalie. The forwards are mostly centers but you can slide a few of them over to the wing. Larkin and MacKinnon have played some wing. Drouin will probably stay on the wing.
Team Europe is intriguing.
The Finns have to be the darkhorse. They added a few guys from the WC silver medal team including Aho and Koskinen.
Canada is naturally the favorite...no holes on that roster.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
ummmm the Pens were definitely favorites among conspiracy theorists lol! They are the easy choice. Storied franchise that housed Mario Lemieux goes bankrupt and folds? Rangers and Leafs are only in there because of their market size, so it also made logical sense to put him in a market that would garner the most national attention for a sport that needed it at the time.kyuss wroteCOLONI didn't pretend to provide evidence either... even if there was I wouldn't feel like spending time looking for it when I remember it well enough for myself.KapG wroteCOLONAll he said was that he thinks he recalls the Rangers being the favourites or something along those lines.
