"as soon as they play 1 professional game in the NHL/AHL that counts for a year against"

that sucks because guys that played a game or two at the end of their CHL season now have to be protected (if they play in the NHL or AHL next season).

Has the NHL said this? I don't think Sam Bennett with 1 NHL GP the season before would need to be exposed.

Shows how closely I read it haha but I wouldn't take it as gospel until NHL puts out the details, just a decent guideline.

The expansion team will be decent in this league. Some of the better teams have already gone though, some teams will just have depth guys unprotected.

expansion team will be better than 60% of the current bbkl teams. We'll need different rules to protect more prospects, etc...

If the team's better than 60% of current teams that would essentially put it in the middle of the pack. I think that's about ideal, no?

We could try the generalfanager thing out as if we were doing the draft this summer to gauge how strong the team will be.

this is why I set this up lol, we were predicting who would get claimed. However we started wrong, we were doing 6-4, where as it will be 7-3. I'll most likely lose a dman.

Ryan Ellis would be my guess.

Could be what we do pre-NHL over the next few days. Get every single team to participate.

Also, If we're going to follow all the rules from the NHL I'd like to follow the trade rule as well. Teams can make deals up until June 1st next year. This allows us to get some value back for quality players. I'm still going to have really good players exposed, but i'll be able to grab a nice prospect for a guy like ryan ellis, and probably have a guy like Andy Greene get claimed instead.

IMO this helps the bottom teams a bit better. I have no issues with the expansion rules, but it would be nice to see us follow all the rules. I'll probably try to trade off a few guys for prospects at years end (like the NHL will do)

The expansion team will probably have a very good defence. They can take the #4 D-man on any team. Some teams are stacked at the position.

The 60% of teams the expansion team is better than are our tankers or teams with no Gms so that's not exactly surprising.
