It's 7 + 3 or 8 skaters so that wouldn't work with 4D protected.

I would be pretty fine. Got a lot of exempt rookies/sophomores.
By the time expansion rolls around Theodore won't be exempt, and you can only protect 3 dmen.

This Is really tough. Lots exposed. Also I can't imagine they would count your first pro season if it's less than 10 games (I.e. Still slide eligible).

This is the difference for me having Dickinson and morrisey exposed.

The BBKL Insider wroteCOLONI actually read 7 forwards, 3 defense, 1 goalie.
now that would be a disaster, will have to use the 8 skaters backup option I guess

P.S. oww man this is going to get ugly for me

Should be our current waiver rules. This is fantasy. We can't always mimic the NHL. Not in a 30 team league.

Really ugly for a few of us with deep teams, luciky we are all in the same situation and we only lose 1 player from our team.

Even 1 AHL/NHL game in 2014/15 and thus player needs to be protected or exposed.

According to sportsnet.

maybe put a limit? 19 games played or less in the AHL/NHL in 2014/15 and that player is exempt.

I'm sure they're being looser with the eligibility rules to create a bigger pool of players that can be protected/drafted. It's kind of a given that every team is going lose something of value in this process. This new team will be a lot more competitive right away compared to other expansion teams. I'm sure the NHL doesn't want their new shiny Vegas team to win 10 games the first season.

This is almost exactly what Bill Daly said. He said they didn't want a 'repeat of the Atlanta Thrashers' Where that team had a grand total of 39 points in it's first season. They are trying to avoid a team full of 3rd/4th liners.

edit - I do agree with Thom though, maybe our rules are close but not exact. We could potentially place a GP limit on players in the AHL/NHL in 2014/15. If we don't this expansion team will be better than half the BBKL teams.

We'll have our own interpretation of the expansion rules if we don't follow them to the letter. We too wouldn't this new team to join and be completely non-competitive.

yup, I'm actually pretty happy some of my prospects didn't make the jump to the AHL last season and stayed in junior or overseas. I believe the only guy that would be close for me anyway would be Ben Hutton.

it's 7-3-1

not 6-4-2, we all had it wrong earlier.
