I don't think it will be a big name dman. The leafs will trade someone like C.Carrick (who's value is as high as it will ever be) for a quality #4 dman --> to a team that needs to clear cap. Maybe a dman like Klein?

He's not going to sign there lol
You think they trade a 3rd to not sign him? Murray is smarter than that. They had to have been talking to him. Unofficially of course.
"Just received from Vesey's agent: "Jimmy's intent at this time has not changed and is prepared to become a free agent on August 15.""
From his dad:
“I’m surprised this deal went down, but it’s still my understanding that he’s going to Aug. 15 and free agency,” said Jimmy Vesey’s dad, ex-Bruin Jim, tonight. “The game plan as of like (Sunday) was to have a list of possible (potential) teams ready, and get to Aug. 15 and then decide. I know nothing has changed. I bet Jimmy’s surprised by this, too.”

So where do the Flames turn next?

Kevin O'Donnell, award-winning Sports Anchor/Reporter for WTVT Fox13 in Tampa (according to his Twitter bio), said that “reports out of Canada have a deal in the works for the Tampa Bay Lightning to trade Ben Bishop to the Calgary Flames.”

Which reports? Haven’t seen them. But if you’re wondering about Kevin’s hockey bonafides, check out THIS take:

If the #Lightning are going to make a bold move at the draft coming away w/ Toronto's #1 pick would soften the blow of losing Steven Stamkos

NHLPA expected to decide on cap growth factor by end of today. Will determine where 2016-17 cap settles. Likely around $73-million.

I also heard the Pens wanted 6th overall for Fleury, lots of bullshit flying around and teams do a much better job of not leaking details now a days.

Remember Schneider was moved for the 9th overall...who ended up being Bo Horvat.

Schneider was all ready looking elite (had beaten out luongo for van starting job), was young, and locked in at 4m.

Thought was Cgy would try to trade down and use that later 1st rounder to get fleury. Can't imagine his value is that much higher than andersens (despite being a really solid goalie for a number of years). Cap isn't unreasonable but it isn't cheap either.

Except there is real pressure for penguins to Move fleury - or else they are required to protect him and let Murray go to expansion draft.
