Hearing Coyotes and defenseman Alex Goligoski closing in on a five-year deal in the neighborhood of $5.5 million per season.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Florida chris is gonna have a lot of money tied up in a pretty meh defensive unit.
~ 31 million for a 7 dman unit. It wouldnt be so bad if it was an elite unit, but it isnt.
I believe Miks defensive cap hit is only around 26 million.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
I suspect between 5 and 6 mil. He made 3.8 last year so the raise will almost cover him!
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
You have 5 pretty good dmen available for expansion draft.lightupdadarkness wroteCOLONDoubtful even if it's a bridge. He makes it to FA.....offer sheet watch will be on even tho they will matchThe BBKL Insider wroteCOLON1.6 up. I'll take it. Should cover Seth Jones raise.

Alex Goligoski's new contract in ARIZ will be five years at just below $5.5M AAV.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
And they'll still suck for 5 years...
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
The yotes are slowly putting together a nice looking young team, imo. I'm glad they are getting some dmen for domingues sake.

I could see them signing Reimer.Matthew wroteCOLONThe yotes are slowly putting together a nice looking young team, imo. I'm glad they are getting some dmen for domingues sake.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Smith and Reimer ... like that !
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
ARI needs to spend to get to the cap floor so it makes a lot of sense, I'd say it's either CGY or ARI for Reimer.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
I'd expect that money to go toward big name free agents. Especially Defense. Reimer isn't an upgrade on domingue.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
It's not easy to get big name free agents to agree to sign there.
Reimer was a .922 goalie last year and Domingue was .912 I don't think you will find many people who don't recognize Reimer as an upgrade. Even a healthy Smith likely plays over Domingue next year if they stand pat. Domingue was a nice story in Arizona last year as a 24 year old rookie seizing an opportunity but he is not their long term answer in net.
Domingue - 2.75 .912
Smith 2.63 .916
People don't regard Smith very highly, but he is still a better option as the numbers bear out.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
He was also a rookie. Reimers been a .914 sv percentage career goalie. Not sure what's so special about him? Why spend money in a position they've all ready tied so much up in on smith long term, when they can spend it upgrading an atrocious defense.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Because they have lots to spend and might not be able to attract anymore quality D and Reimer is a big upgrade over Domingue IMO. I don't think OEL, Goli, Murphy, Stone is an atrocious top 4 either their offence needs help, but Strome and Dvorak will hopefully provide some of that. Having money does not equal getting free agents. I don't care if ARI signs Reimer though it just seems like a possible destination to me and I think you owning Domingue is pretty obviously letting some bias creep in and wanting him to be a starting goalie.Matthew wroteCOLONHe was also a rookie. You can deny the bias, but if you didn't own Domingue I'm almost certain you wouldn't speak up based on just a guess that ARI could bring in another goalie.
