Re: PHI / FLA
Nice move by Chris...I've been keeping my eye on the Gagner situation. Was thinking about swooping in.

Re: PHI / FLA
Good return for sure for lee. But value could definitely be there for Chris. Prefer the high seconds
Re: PHI / FLA
Definitely prefer this for Lee. Gagner I don't see being in the NHL much longer and Gelinas really hasn't been able to establish himself yet. Good on Lee to get out from under them now and get something for them.
Re: PHI / FLA
Gagner signed a 2 year deal with CBJ. He is 100 percent an NHLer. I just have too many waiver eligible contracts and I'd rather get something for Gagner and keep a wildcard like Miele ( one way deal ) than to keep gagner and potentially lose Miele for nothing.
Re: PHI / FLA
Lol who says gangner isnt gonna last long in nhl
Re: PHI / FLA
Getting a 4th for him is different than getting nothing for him. I still have contracts I'd like to shed. I'd be happy to keep any of those guys or move them for the picks listed. When I get down to my target number of contracts, the remaining players will be taken off the block.
Re: PHI / FLA
Dude, Philly waived him and went unclaimed and was a healthy scratch a good portion of the season. He stinks.kimmer wroteCOLONLol who says gangner isnt gonna last long in nhl

Re: PHI / FLA
I think some of these guys are unwanted because of their salary. You look at guy like Vanek. I don't think a team wants to pay him $6 million a year anymore but he's still a solid enough NHL player but just not to the level he once was. I think the number of teams interested in Vanek increased when his salary was basically cut in half.
Gagner can still play in the NHL...but just at a lower salary. I think teams aren't willing to take on certain players because cap space is so important. A team like Philadelphia or Minnesota can't afford to keep players at higher salaries than what they're worth when they're trying to fit other key players under the cap.

Re: PHI / FLA
Had nothing to do with Gagner's salary. He is just flat out that bad and only was recalled and played due to injuries. He is nothing more than a organizational depth body. That said, Columbus is so bad he should get some play.
Re: PHI / FLA
I can't see him anywhere on their top 2 lines. They do have a lot of talented forwards: Saad/wennberg/jenner/dubinsky/bjorkstrand/hartnell/atkinson and possibly even dubois.
He will either be on the third line or in the press box it seems.

Re: PHI / FLA
I'd say you'd run them into the ground but I'm not sure they can go much lower.
