Re: NYI - BOS
Why can't i? If people can bet picks and transfer assets that way why can i not transfer a player that was originally his 3 or 4 years ago? He needed help with contract numbers years ago and i took him on. Now i need the help and he is returning the favor. The way i see it is if people can make bets with picks(assets) than i can trade a player to a team. If i cant do this then every pick ever traded with respect to bets has to be returned, right? Is a pick not a franchise asset?Lee wroteCOLONCan't trade something for nothing.

I don't make the rules but that's how it's always been.
Re: NYI - BOS
I know you dont. And please dont think i am attacking you. Just stating facts. If we are allowed to bet and transfer picks for nothing where does it state that i cannot do the same with a player? Picks are more valuable than players and this is a transfer between two willing parties.Lee wroteCOLONI don't make the rules but that's how it's always been.
Re: NYI - BOS
Why not just trade player + 7th for 6th rather than get into this argument.

Not an argument. We run into issues like this in the past and they are always resolved by setting precedent. In the long run it is better to fix it so there is no uncertainty. I think i bring up a valid point. We can easily fix this(Tony and I).LordQuack wroteCOLONWhy not just trade player + 7th for 6th rather than get into this argument.

Re: NYI - BOS
I think the issue with doing this would be in theory guys could 'gift' players to guys they like to do a favor, and it could get messy. Future considerations might be something to open for discussion as these in other sports are usually late picks traded at a later date, but simply giving players up doesn't seem like a good idea. You do raise a good point about betting picks though, I know Shiv losing that bet to 4 of us forcing him to give up 2nds was costly and likely a reason for his teams slow start/performance this year.

I lost a bet in adhl where i had to give out seven 5ths
Re: NYI - BOS
Put it this way. Its a trade back for a deal we made 3 years ago. Did this with the knowledge of no tradebacks within a year or something. Well past the time.
