Re: Playoffs Week 1
Crazy that you both have shutouts already. Really intriguing matchup so far but Luke with the GP might tip things in his favor.
Other than matchup, things are pretty much going as expected. Granted, it's only Tuesday.

gotta love when this happens!
Re: Playoffs Week 1
I guess it's lousy because who cares if I won a matchup vs. CAR during the regular season? Or lost to TOR? Or whatever, if we break ties within a division I feel like looking at matchup wins h2h should come first, and then matchup wins within division. But it's not really an issue, I just didn't realize it was total matchup wins vs. anyone.kyuss wroteCOLONwhy would that be a lousy tiebreaker? it's the only point where winning matchups rather than losing them actually matters, so at least it's better than nothing...koomzzz wroteCOLONseems like a lousy tiebreaker to use IMO, but that's fine. just wanted to make sure
if anything, our lousy stuff starts right after that, with the retarded seeding system we're copying & pasting from the NHL and the fact as of now (despite fantrax would allow for it) we still can't sub injured players during playoffs week. But that's stuff for another season, maybe
Re: Playoffs Week 1
personally I think that makes more sense in real life where teams indeed face each other on the ice and what a team does goes hand in hand with what the opposition allows it to do. In our case, where that doesn't happen, we like taking the bigger sample into consideration instead.koomzzz wroteCOLONI guess it's lousy because who cares if I won a matchup vs. CAR during the regular season? Awwww yeah! Bob with another shutout, when you have the best goalie in the league, you always have a chance. C'mon you Jets!!

Yes, I always have a chance. Not sure why my team is relevant to your match up tho.Monk wroteCOLONAwwww yeah! Bob with another shutout, when you have the best goalie in the league, you always have a chance. C'mon you Jets!!

Lol I knew somebody would pick up on that, ok maybe Bob is #2 behind Dubnyk, maybe.. but I know you had some very good weeks especially early on, but decided to go a different direction, just proves the point further thoughMatthew wroteCOLONYes, I always have a chance. Re: Playoffs Week 1
Yeah, I started to sabotage his stats by adding bernier. Right now depending on how the season ends it looks like dubnyk/bob/holtby all have a shot at the vezina.Monk wroteCOLONLol I knew somebody would pick up on that, ok maybe Bob is #2 behind Dubnyk, maybe.. but I know you had some very good weeks especially early on, but decided to go a different direction, just proves the point further thoughMatthew wroteCOLONYes, I always have a chance. Re: Playoffs Week 1
I don't think it's any coincidence the three best goalies this season have been involved in three of the longest winning streaks of the season.
Bob and Dubnyk are very similar numbers-wise and their monthly splits are similar in that their first 3 months were their best...they had okay numbers in January and February and they're both off to great starts in March.
Holtby has had a brilliant season but sometimes gets forgotten because of the stars that play in front of him. Holtby's story arc this season...his numbers get better with each month.
