Roster adjustments in weeks is a terrible wormhole to open.

just glorious. Decided to pay up to get him as OTT plays 4 times in the first 2 rounds, now he will miss at least 3 of those 8 games (and would be 3 out of 4 if I don't make it out of the 1st round).

Finger injury he was trying to play through.. I guess now I know why he was not taking faceoffs anymore

you know, that would actually bring a significan improvement for the league, unlike your old argument about allowing trades to be announced during our post-season.

But it's something that can't happen before next season, and won't anyway if there isn't wider interest.
I guess if status quo remains the way to go about it is just leaving the team to its destiny through the trade deadline without bothering making deals, as for the most it will be about not getting players injured on Tuesday/Wednesday anyway

It wouldn't be the first time we've changed or made up new rules mid week or in season.

this makes me think it is different for you, but personally I don't like amending rules to benefit my team, I like amending rules to make the game more funny than frustrating. If that happens to fit well my team current status, so be it, I'm not going to be shy of my opinion just because some may think I advocate for it to favour my team.

Suppose a deep NHL team loses players to injuries in the first game of a best of 7 series, I think it's right it can benefit from its depth by dressing different players to play the rest of the series rather than having to play shorthanded the following games.
Same thing here, if we can figure out a proper way to do it (i.e. without making such team actually benefit from the suffered injuries) I don't see why a team hit by bad luck shouldn't be allowed to dress some others of its players for the rest of the playoff series (which for us means the rest of the week). It's not like having to replace players he picked over the other players wouldn't be penalizing already.

I doubt that happened unless we were forced to (like when a hole in the rules showed up and needed to be addressed one way or the other)

If we ever considered allowing that (mid-week replacements)...do it where if you take the player out, you can't use them again the rest of the playoffs (regardless of the severity of the injury).

Me personally, I'd say don't allow it. An injury is right up there with a player having a bad game...those are the breaks. We all are at risk of having an important player of ours not stay healthy or not produce like we expect. If it was a guarantee...we'd just give the championship to the team with the best roster. That wouldn't be very fun.

Agreed.

Are our finals still 2 weeks? That's where I would say okay... get it done Monday before lock like a normal week.

Tend to agree with Shoalzie and it also promotes hoarding players in the minors more then we already do now. I like that there isn't much benefit to having good players in your minors since it promotes 2-1 trades to make your roster better and sharing NHLers so every team can make GP.

Finals are also 2 weeks and didn't we allow changes after week 1 last year? I don't mind that either.

If the league was new and everyone had the same roster depth that's one thing, but to add that now when only a few top teams have depth would cause a big loss in the parity we've been gaining the past couple years. Definite no to this for me.

Don't mind it in the 2 week finals.

The 2 week final could be an exception...or just allow both teams adjust their lineups on the Monday of the second week.

Better of the two solutions. A change like allowing mid-week lineup changes would greatly affect the value of NHL players and create a wider gap between the top and the bottom of the league.

I disagree.

Allowing 1 or 2 at most and have a fantrax admin making the changes would work just fine.
