I understand, but there is no reason you cannot work on a deal with someone and give a gentleman's agreement to post directly after the playoffs. I don't believe anyone here would break that agreement.
We do that in ADHL
We actually post them in there and they're just not processed until the offseason. In here it's handshakes, nothing is posted until after the playoffs are done.

They are doing the one thing they could possibly do to remove enjoyment of this process for fans. F@#$ them!

Is it good for the league and players though to have everything exposed?

I don't think so.

Given that they are there at the whim of the fans, yes, it should be a public, televised event. I'd show my dick live on air for 8 hours straight all day every day to make the kind of money they make.

It's not like the fans can't figure out who 90% of the exposed and protected players are anyway.

For HR reasons, if I were a GM, not a freaking chance I'd want that out there. talk about creating a rift in the dressing room.

Still wouldn't be good.

I agree the league should've released them to garner interest, but once they left it up to the GMs there was no way they would want that released.

Ya, guess GMs would prefer not to. Although, I don't see why it would create much problems in the dressing room. It's not like the teams can protect every single player and only expose players they didn't want. I'd like to think the players are more mature than that, considering the nature of their jobs.

A job doesn't necessarily make you emotionally mature and capable of dealing with forms of rejection. NHL players is b#tches!

point is to grow the game, so yes the expansion draft should be televised, and made into an event (a Cheesy Las Vegas NHL event). Talk up the picks and the players and the expansion team. Get TSN to go bonkers about it
