Marchand gets 2 games I agree Steve... would be less if he wasn't a frequent flyer; gutty move but guys do that all the time. he just got Dotchin in the right spot or Dotchin really worked it.

Although I agree Hong. I would point they are not alone in being greedy.

It's starts with the IOC and IIHF wanting the product for free. And no sharing benefits with those who own the assets

Then the owners are greedy, because they are scared of risk and lost revenue - but that's also their investment and business... so kinda makes some sense.

And let's not give the players a free pass here. They are free to go play and live with the economic impact it could have on them if playing while suspended , and get hurt while suspended potentially voiding their contract (or at least until injury recovered, whatever). However now you have a professional doing his job for free... and the obvious risk of personal injury that neither the owners nor IOC/iihf risk...

It's all about money, and that's true for everyone involved, not just the owners. there were options for All other parties to show it is not about the money for them too, but they didn't.

I would have no issue letting OV or some of my guys go to the olympics.. but if they get suspended during my playoff run i will be so damn pissed

It sucks that they won't be at the Olympics but the games will be on in the middle of the night. I do find it interesting they've struck up a relationship with China with the preseason games and since the next Olympics being over there.
