like i get moving back a few spots.. but i don't quite get why paul has to give up a first rounder and the rationale? isn't it too harsh given he had previously not breach the same and is his first breach? i agree he shd be fined for sure but giving up a first is quite huge for him (he doesn't have much assets to work with)..

Any fines imo should just be forfeited picks. I don't really get the logic in rewarding that person with an additional 1st rd pick.

Giving a player a worse pick and a late first is not a reward. Given the choice between Eichel and a late 1st and Connor McDavid, it's an easy choice.

The pick I traded for won the lottery and I didn't get the first overall pick. Billy was punished. I was punished for someone elses mistake.

All this talk of " oh he would have been higher in rankings if he played 1100 gp" is all speculative bullshit.

The way the rules are right now, Pauls pick must move back one spot for missing gp, regardless of whether the calculation proves that or not (I don't think he would actually move out of last). So, Pitt Mike is losing value on the pick. The 31st overall recovers a bit of value for going from 1st overall to 2nd overall.
