I've given everyone an "Expansion" sheet. I have to verify some data but you guys can use those sheets. All you do is put a "P" in the blue box next to the player you want to protect.

My expansion sheet is my original roster submission sheet. There have been a few changes since than to my lineup. Can I delete players not on current team and add players now on my team.

Scott told me to move all your traded players down past row 94 so that they appear on roster and don't impact your weekly submissions, but removes them from the expansion sheet.

Do we have any protections in place for people trading away players only to reacquire them after the expansion draft?

The no trade back rules seems easy enough to get around.

If you don't want a player selected come to an agreement that you will pay X asset(s) for him to take someone or not take someone. I'd expect the prices for that to be pretty high though since it limits his flexibility. I don't think Tim is going to be trading back players as a favour to GMs.

It's all up to Tim if he wants to work out any side deals where you can protect a player from being picked. I don't see anything wrong with us doing that here. I'd say just hold off on posting anything until after the protected lists have been locked in.

Paul has a free protection slot
Steve trade player to Paul
Paul protects player
after expansion draft, Paul trades player back to Steve

just as an example. I'd never presume you guys would do such a trade

on a serious note, we don't allow trade-backs. I think this would follow the same rule.

I believe Kareem did this a few years ago, we now have rules in place to protect against this.

I figured we'd have something where if you have Player X exposed. You make a deal with Tim where he drafts Player Y instead and you send him a little compensation (picks/prospects/players).

Yeah I'm open to talking these kinds of deals (although I do plan on icing a competitive roster next season) but I think the discussion was with regards to teams basically renting out their protection spots in exchange for some kind of compensation, which is something the NHL prevents and I would imagine we would here as well.

Yeah, you obviously don't owe us anything in this process...you can put together a solid team right out of the gate. I think you could be competitive in the West right away. You throw in the high 1st rounder...lots of possibilities for you.

Geeze. No one is making any trades at all. Maybe we should move expansion up. It's such a trade killer.
