Funny how Mike had 2nd+5th pre lottery, and his 5th overall pick won the lottery so he ends up 1st+5th which isn't a big difference.

This is definitely the risk you take when you trade your pick and you still are in play for the lottery even if you're in the teens. I obviously guessed that I'd be safe at 2.2%. That's crazy...has to be the most jumbled lottery order they've had.

So you think teams should be rewarded for quitting on the season? The Avs weren't just bad they pretty much tanked. Obviously somebody fucked up at the league office though because the NHL hates the Flyers.

I'm with Casper... whole point is to minimize benefit of tanking and improve parity; good for the players as well as it forces shit teams to be more aggressive in free agency to make their teams better. I like it... good thing the leafs didn't get fucked over last year haha.

I like this system. This year won't be the norm, as it went against the odds, but it will make sure gms think a lot more before considering tanking. If it had just been the top 5-6 teams winning the lottery every year it wouldn't be a deterrence.

Damn though, the Flyers are already stacked with easily the best pool of defensive prospects and now get to add Patrick/Hischier to Giroux, Voracek, Simmonds, Konency, Schenn, Couturier, etc. Looking forward to crushing their dreams in a future playoff series

This mass hate among NHL fans for Gary Bettman is one of the weirdest things I've ever seen. He works for the owners and their opinions aren't the same as the fans or players. Blame the owners lol
