I had zero dicussions and haven't really been involved in anything. Guess he wants to be independent, but was only there to offer a second opinion and try and help.

For what it's worth if he had come to me with this offer I would have told him to wait until the roster freeze to mitigate the risk of other GMs moving goalie targets. I actually had him taking Raanta in my mock since NJ doesn't have great pieces available unlike Hong who paid for goalie protection. Would have been curious to hear who he was targeting for his 3 goalies that makes a 3rd + 5th worth not taking Raanta.

I agree and it's not like I wouldn't allow him to make the trade and veto it. Just don't see the reason for not waiting 2 days for the roster freeze when we are this close and his plan could potentially get screwed up this weekend.
