Interestingly though I just tried to propose one of the protection deals that hasn't been processed yet and it ives me the message about the trade not involving my team. I guess the fact that it's only picks, not players is the difference.

Tatar should have been the pick. Periphs are important, but don't ignore points. Points are half the cats, and periphs can be acquired via trade a lot more cheaply than point getters, especially with all those picks you have.
