I see that he's on a PTO with Vegas...not an actual contract.

Tony wroteCOLONReceived a few PMs about the shooting in Vegas - all fine here. I'm in Reno - about 300 miles north.

Hopefully you and yours are all safe as well... no travelers.
My Brother in law was staying at Mandalay Bay. Was getting out of cab right when shooting started had to take cover underneath along with two people close by. Afterwards helped in removing all the injured. Hes pretty traumatized. Doesn't really want to talk about it. He couldn't even leave because they locked all guests out of that Hotel for investigation.
Jesus, dude... Great to hear he's fine and he was able to lend a hand when it happened. Brave.
It may be the relative "small town" inside me speaking but America is scary. Its history and its present leader. I know that is a very broad statement that does not by any means apply to everyone that lives there, but from an outsider who has tickets to go to Phoenix in November with his family, i am having second thoughts.
I refuse to go to San Francisco anymore (where I went to college). Sanctuary city that favors rights of criminals over citizens and police is a big no-no on my list to bring my child to visit. Bums can shit in the streets - legally. I generally stay away from larger groups of people (aside from hockey games) as I hate people anyway. But I'm a weirdo, so whatever.

Fantrax:

Pirri secured a contract from the Golden Knights on Wednesday, Steve Carp of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
Analysis: Pirri was also placed on waivers Wednesday, per James Mirtle of The Athletic Toronto. Whether the center reports to Vegas or AHL Chicago will likely be determined by the health of Vadim Shipachyov (undisclosed). The 26-year-old Pirri was unable to turn his PTO with the Panthers into a job with that club, but apparently showed enough to earn a contract from the NHL's newest team, which is still trying to build up organizational depth.

Yeah, I did see this morning on CapFriendly he signed an actual deal. Same with Zolnierczyk in Nashville.

That must the policy with guys on PTO. If they sign with a different team, that have to clear waivers first. Similar to that of the guy that signs midseason from Europe.

Waiving Marincin could be just a maintenance move because you can send down a player any time if they clear waivers and stay on the roster 30 days and play less than 10 games.

The Wings did that with David Booth.
