OFFICIAL: #NYR  have acquired a first-round pick in the 2018 NHL Draft, defenseman Ryan Lindgren, forwards Ryan Spooner and Matt Beleskey, and a seventh-round pick in the 2019 NHL Draft from the Bruins in exchange for Rick Nash.

well Rangers retain 50% of Nash contract, and the Beleskey dump lasts for 3 seasons (not saying I ike the deal for the Bruins, mind you)

Im assuming Sweeney decided they weren't going to sign Spooner and he was expendible. The 2nd line got owned by Leafs last night and Bruins finally got a legit winger for Krejci. I think it is safe to say Bruins are going all in. They have an amazing amount of good players in the system so DS has chips to burn. I like it and think RIck is gonna be a beast. Hes a great 2 way player. Time will tell.

On the bbkl front, i just improved my Spooner value big time. He will flourish in a new system.

Not sold on Spooner ever being more than a 35 point winger... kind of like Sam Gagner. PP specialist sort of guy.

Boston is going for it and didn't mortgage too much of their future. They're prospect-rich right now. Nash boosts their 2nd line. As long as Bergeron's injury from yesterday isn't serious...the Bruins are one of the favorites to get out of the East.

I think the Rangers are doing the right thing in selling off some pieces and rebuilding. Collect picks and prospects and build around the likes of Miller and Zibanejad.
