For the record the fluke I'm referring to is Vegas not knowing he'd be that good when they drafted him. I never said his season was a fluke, though his shooting percentage will regress

His shooting percentage is pretty remarkable. I look at my guy Anders Lee who has posted back to back years of 17.4% (34 goals) and 19.2% (40 goals)...but knowing his game, a lot of his goals are around the crease. Marchand was 18.7% this year...and he'll probably score more ugly goals but can snipe when he needs to. Oshie had a 23% year in '16-17...he's usually around 13% or 14%. Schiefele has posted 20% and 18.4% years back to back. Laine is a 17.6% and 18.3% in his two years so far. You'd think he'd be an efficient sniper. Ovechkin is the best scorer of this current generation but just because of the volume of shots, he's yet to break 15%.

Without really breaking down where the goals are being scored...hard to grade or critique a percentage. Sometimes you just have one of "those years". Without getting multiple years of data from the Knights...they're already an anomaly with this first year. Can't call things a fluke without getting more data points to compare it to.

William Karlsson played 183 games in the NHL before this year, he took 233 shots in that time and scored 18 goals. His quality of teammate is a lot better this year, but most years he's been about an 8% shooter. This is a huge jump up to 23.4%.
