2018 Draft Discussion

I've been on off and on all day, but if you must know:

1. I came on the clock late last night and was deep in multiple trade talks in adhl, so that took priority this morning.
2. I'm not receiving my notifications from bbkl, so when I signed I had trade offers to sort through.
3. Dave took my guy and I hadn't fully made up my mind yet between a handful of guys I have ranked closely together.

Anything else you would like to know? Like my sign, eye color, or what I think about when I look up at the stars in the moonlight?

Waiting sucks, but the whole point is to start in time to finish the draft before the NHL one starts and we have lately finished WAY early.

youre happy waiting 20+ hours between picks when there is a better solution?

If we are going to change then we should start later too, that's all I'm saying.

I'd be in favor of starting the draft a week later or at the very least after the completion of the combine and shortening the draft windows.

I'd like to know when you are going to pick and stop making excuses. It's stupid that one person can kill pretty much an entire day of drafting intentionally, whether he wants to admit it or not. It's either stupidity, willful ignorance or plain out trolling.

I've been patient up until this point. When you see the same behavior over and over again from the same people, it's god damn annoying. It's a complete lack of respect for the time of other people involved in the league.

The typical response is "what's the hurry?" .... The consideration of 29 other people in the league waiting on you to make your pick with no clear indication that you are trading the pick, shopping it, or even an acknowledgement that you know you are on the clock.

Another idea I was toying with was slotted times, but when doing the math it didn't work out so well. Maybe someone could extrapolate on the idea.

Pick one is on the clocked from 8 am - 9 am
2 is 9 am - 10 am
3 is 10 am - 11 am
etc

your timer does not end until your alloted time expires, meaning if a of picks 1-2 go quickly, you still have until 11 AM to make your pick.

THe issue comes when reaching off peak hours. It's unreasonable to expect someone to be on the clock for an hour at 3 am. Using this method over a 12 hour time span per day would put us right around pick 48 ( very rough, quick math) right now. That sounds good now but the math yesterday put us father behind, not so much now that there have been so few picks over the last 20 hours.

12 picks a day sounds nice to me.

This is what we do in IFFHL, whole draft is slotted and you can't get skipped until your alloted time expires, so when the draft moves quick you get extra time to play with but everyone knows ahead of time when they're picking. Offhand I think it's 3 hour windows starting at 7am through 1am so 6 picks a day but we typically get ahead of the slots. Slots could get smaller since we have many more picks in here.

it would be hard field offers for our picks under this proposal.. not that it's a bad idea but i don't prefer it... especially me and some others are in the opposite end of the timezone.. it seems right now everyones scare of you and the draft moved on quickly anyway
