If one actually looks at the stats, it isn't necessarily a bad offer. Especially since to fit both those guys into his lineup, Paul needs to sit another player (and lose his stats).

It's essentially two 50 point players for one 80 point player.

And once someone is competing, they can usually trade for the better point production per roster spot, and find another piece to fill the open roster spot. Although I guess Thom doesn't possess many extra pieces.
