Right now, Ovechkin is scoring at a higher per game rate than Gretzky did over his career. 0.614 goals per game for Ovechkin compared to 0.601 for Gretzky. If he played another 5+ seasons at his current pace, he'd go over 900 goals. He's got two more years left on his current contract. I'll be curious to see if he wants to stay in the NHL long enough to threaten the record. He's the most proficient goal scorer of this current era.

I forgot how few games Lemieux played in over his career...his goals per game was 0.754. He's the only player in the top 20 in goal scoring to not play 1000 games.

Sucks for Mike Green getting hurt from a fantasy perspective but it hurts the real Wings as well. With last night's loss, the Wings are 1-7-2 without Green in the lineup. They're 13-8-2 with him in the lineup.
