The fact you're in the top half of the standings with two empty spots in your lineup is quite remarkable. You're playing with a solid group of 7 defensemen, 3 centers (one superstar in Schiefele) and basically only 6 wingers...now only 5 with Kovalchuk hurt. I'll be curious to see if they can keep it up while Kovalchuk's out.

its all been luck so far in terms of teams losing/winning

look at Lee's roster top to bottom, and there werent that many guys that were supposed to be performing the way they've been,,, and rielly going still over PPG in NHL... Dumba and Orlov suddenly doubling their PK duty... chiasson 11G in 21 GP lol... Duchene playing like his early 20's in his COL days alongside his old bread and butter lando/macK/Duch etc
combo of those guys all hitting their max potential + increased sheer number of teams who leave their roster status quo without improvement year after year

and NYR BBKL's top pick coming to instant fruition and several game changer pieces being consistent (schief/yandle/ghost) + kyle's patient investment of quality dmen that do periphs and offence can usually keep any half decent team competitive. dmen are rly important this way. I rmb last couple years NYR kyles biggest hole was defence, relying on gp plugs on top of the fact that none of connauton chiarot and pouliot being 82 gamer regulars at the time. Now, as of mid to late season lasty year to even now, they are... amazing luck/patience on them once again. I've owned all of chiarot connauton and flipped em back and forth with kyle several years now... im the loser for it. I wasn't sure those guys would make it full time eventually and they did. Also pretty sure even as of this past weekend, Schief was rated #1 centreman in all of Fantrax. Amazing

much like i have been bitten by injury bug to my core producers in b.sutter for periph/FOW and schultz (who was already ppg first 4 games in) as early as week 1-3 and still not returned...

point is it's not a surprised to see the result but everyone who owns their team probably knows why this is all happening...
