boston is chasing NJD for the 8th spot in the east.

Colorado is chasing down Vegas for 8th in the west.

Nashville and Minny battling out for central 1st so that they get to face a wildcard team rather than dallas in the first round.

Vancouver and Edmonton currently separated by 1 point for home ice advantage in the pacific.

Washington is catching up to philli for 1st in the metro.

Toronto and tampa battling for home ice in the atlantic, and are in striking distance of division leader buffalo.

Trade deadline should be at least 3 weeks before playoffs. Keeps more teams interested in making upgrades. Only reason to have it so late is to prevent teams from being fucked goalie wise. So maybe add a clause that only goalie centric trades can occur after the NHL trade deadline.
