Justin Faulk

Re: Justin Faulk
Well I was talking about the Vegas GM, who was new, whom you took to the cleaners. You sold him as a vezina candidate when there was ZERO reason to. The dude sucked then, sucks now and will always suck. The only thing saving Vegas from this being 100% brutal is the lottery protection and the fact that he'll never EVER get vezina votes haha.kyuss wroteCOLONyeah right, cause Darling was valued like a Vezina candidate in that trade rather than a struggling starter?Da_Hawks wroteCOLON The league won't always be top heavy, but when you have guys like Mik who are fleecing new GMs by demanding 18 first round picks for Scott Darling and calling him a vezina candidate and the trade goes through, nothing is really going to change. .

oh, in insight of course, given what happened and transpired with Darling after the trade, not because he was valued like a Vezina contender in that trade.CasperX22 wroteCOLONYou fleeced him without question.kyuss wroteCOLONyeah right, cause Darling was valued like a Vezina candidate in that trade rather than a struggling starter?Da_Hawks wroteCOLON The league won't always be top heavy, but when you have guys like Mik who are fleecing new GMs by demanding 18 first round picks for Scott Darling and calling him a vezina candidate and the trade goes through, nothing is really going to change. .

Don't think Vegas GM had just joined the league either
Re: Justin Faulk
Yeah okay - you keep telling yourself that you didn't know you were killing this deal. Anyone who thought Darling was good at hockey after that last season is part of a very small minority.kyuss wroteCOLONoh, in insight of course, given what happened and transpired with Darling after the trade, not because he was valued like a Vezina contender in that trade.CasperX22 wroteCOLONYou fleeced him without question.kyuss wroteCOLONyeah right, cause Darling was valued like a Vezina candidate in that trade rather than a struggling starter?Da_Hawks wroteCOLON The league won't always be top heavy, but when you have guys like Mik who are fleecing new GMs by demanding 18 first round picks for Scott Darling and calling him a vezina candidate and the trade goes through, nothing is really going to change. .

Re: Justin Faulk
Darling for a 1st isn't terrible given what some of these unproven rookie goalies are getting atm in our league.

mmh, no. Having a clause doesn't mean he was sold/paid as a Vezina candidate lol.Da_Hawks wroteCOLONWell I was talking about the Vegas GM, who was new, whom you took to the cleaners. The dude sucked then, sucks now and will always suck.
unfortunately turns out the dude was/is back having issues. He certainly didn't suck with Chicago when he appeared to be over his personal issues.
Re: Justin Faulk
It is when the dude just put up a .888 sv% and looked horrible doing so (not that you can look good).Matthew wroteCOLONDarling for a 1st isn't terrible given what some of these unproven rookie goalies are getting atm in our league.

Then why include the clause - for shits and giggles?kyuss wroteCOLONmmh, no. He sucked then as well. It was just masked under a good team in front of him before the wheels had fallen off in Chicago.kyuss wroteCOLONmmh, no. my peace of mind. Didn't cost him anything, so not sure why the big dealDa_Hawks wroteCOLONThen why include the clause - for shits and giggles?kyuss wroteCOLONmmh, no. Re: Justin Faulk
No Crawford did not suck, but he didn't belong in conversations as top 3 goalies in the NHL.
Re: Justin Faulk
Peace of mind haha. Oh boy. Andrew Ladd is just as likely to win the rocket as Darling to win a vezina. Maybe I'll include it for my peace of mind if I ever trade him away.
Re: Justin Faulk
To be fair, mik got 1 first for darling, and then paid the equivalent of around 4 firsts for dubnyk. He values goalies highly and is willing to pay a lot for one that suits his team, but he also doesn't want to give one away he believes may have untapped potential.
And the vezina clause is meaningless cuz he didn't rebound, so its pointless to debate.
...Justin faulk is a pretty good player. Any offers yet?

Re: Justin Faulk
Faulk is good.
Why would anyone give up a good young NHLer for an unknown with less upside?
I don't think Steve's ask is unfair at all.
It's a pretty common swap.. One side taking the steady proven production and the other banking on upside.
