We all have preferences on which players we like...that's fair. I don't personally like Letang either...mostly because of Red Wings-Penguins battles of the past...but I can't deny that the guy has had a really good career.

Cap inflation+ufa contract vs buying out ufa years for McDavid. He will for sure have offers in that range on the open market and plenty of teams with cash to open their pocketbooks.

And what does it matter whos better in real life? Especially considering EK's cap hit will be 35-40% higher than Carlson's for likely similar fantasy production. Carlson at 8m is easily more valuable than EK at 13 in this league.

that's only your speculation. I don't see EK going to a crappy team just to get 12M... he's more likely to make 9.5 on a contender

And the day, for whatever reason, Carlson is off that PP unit his production gets cut in half, unlike EK who makes his own points anyway
