Tampa will make a comeback. They are too good.

Re: 2019 NHL Playoffs
Yeah, can't forgot what the Jackets did last year. I'm sure that's in the back of their minds. I wonder what happens with Kucherov...that was a pretty rough hit.
Jets are in trouble down 0-2 heading to St. Louis. The Blues are my pick to get out of the West.
Seems like Sharks-Vegas is a 6 or 7 game series...that'll go back and forth.
Not exactly panic time for the Penguins but they've got to hold serve on home ice. What a difference Nassau Coliseum makes for the Islanders. That's a much more intimidating team in the building.

This is pretty wild! Anyone still taking the TB odds to win 4 straight?dave1959 wroteCOLONWhen will they start it...lolDa_Hawks wroteCOLONTampa will make a comeback. They are too good.

Nope. They've been playing just so terribly.Handsome&FairMike wroteCOLONThis is pretty wild! Anyone still taking the TB odds to win 4 straight?dave1959 wroteCOLONWhen will they start it...lolDa_Hawks wroteCOLONTampa will make a comeback. They are too good.

You'd think they're capable of ripping off 4 straight but they look broken right now. Tough to not have Kucherov and Hedman last night. They're a stacked team but anyone would lose a bit of steam when you take their best forward and defenseman out of the lineup.
Re: 2019 NHL Playoffs
seems like NYI and CBJ will win the series.. I always think Tampa is just a team playing for regular season..
I hope Leafs can really do something about the Bruins physicality..

Re: 2019 NHL Playoffs
The Bruins looked engaged in Game 2. That's the version of the Bruins I think can win the Stanley Cup. Game 1, they looked listless and the Leafs ate them up as they should.
With the Lightning, they remind me of the '02 Red Wings more than the '96 team that won 62 games. The '02 Wings lost the first two games at home against the Canucks and it took the center ice goal by Lidstrom on Cloutier to turn the series around. They looked like the best team heading into the playoffs but got off to a flat start at home. I don't think the Lightning are done but they're out of runway if they want to start a comeback.
Sometimes the regular season juggernauts are exposed in the playoffs because when you have to play someone 4-7 games in a row, the other coach will find ways to shut them down. Rather than in the regular season where you're in one city in one night and then in another city a different night and you can probably beat most teams if you're clearly the better team on that given night.

Tampa reminds me of the Sens back in Jacques Martin days...couldn't turn it up a notch when they needed to.hong57 wroteCOLONseems like NYI and CBJ will win the series.. I always think Tampa is just a team playing for regular season..

Re: 2019 NHL Playoffs
It's not like a lot of these guys haven't gone deep in the playoffs before. They've been to three conference finals (lost in a Game 7 twice) and made it to a Cup Final. Practically half of that lineup remains from the '14-15 Cup finalist team.
You either have a bad first round matchup where the other team won't roll over for you or you get off to a bad start and you can't recover in time and next thing you know you're in a handshake line and on a golf course.

Re: 2019 NHL Playoffs
These playoffs have been absolutely fascinating. Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay on the verge of a sweep, the complete polar opposites in Game 1 vs. Game 2 in TOR/BOS, 7+ goals scored in each of the VGK/SJ games, etc.

Re: 2019 NHL Playoffs
I love seeing guys make their NHL debuts in the playoffs. What a way to get introduced to the league. In Makar's case, he's been in playoff/tournament for a weeks so you'd think he would fit right in.
I saw Gusev signed with the Knights but they didn't play him last night.

Makes their expansion protection next summer that much more interesting. EJ having a NMC already ties there hands a bit, will be interesting to see if they make a deal with SEA.Shoalzie wroteCOLONI love seeing guys make their NHL debuts in the playoffs.
