Pretty underwhelming return on Ekholm imo. Better piece than Groulx and I may feel differently.

The draft pick is the wild card in the equation. Seems unlikely Mike misses the playoffs so that's no better than 16th overall. Unless he makes the Eastern Finals, that's somewhere between picks 16-27.
I definitely looked at Ekholm as a guy I was going throw an offer at over the weekend before I honed in on Vatanen. I figured Ekholm would be a little more pricey. He's more offensively productive, more durable and has the better contract than Vatanen.

Ya I’m a fan. Better NHL d man than vatanen but great contract and should have a long NHL career based on what he’s done so far.
