Was scared to open and look when I saw who the trade was between, but not terrible. I like Samberg a lot too, but I'm sure some ppl will be dropping in the draft this Summer and that pick will still have lots of value.

I`m sure they do. But are those types really worth more than a 1st rounder when fully developed by like age 26? Seems like a risk with little upside, but he must really like him to move on him now.

So 1st it's guys like him rarely pan out, now it's are prospects with the potential to be a top 30 dman in this league are worth it for best case scenario 27th pick in the draft? Gonna have to help me with that logic.

I suppose its both. One is not tied to the other, both were independent questions.

Ok, what is your basis for thinking he won't pan out then, and why would essentially a fringe #1 D in our format not be worth a very late 1st?

I guess I'm still learning that plugs like Cole and Niskanen are great fantasy players despite them being mediocre NHL'ers.

My basis for him not panning is simply the odds and what little I know about him. It's just also very rare that you see a 1st being given up for a prospect.
