Re: SJ-NYR
Fair considering the circumstances. Not like Josh paid much for Skinner when he bought him in the 1st place.

You probably still can.bills09 wroteCOLONWould have paid a 2nd
Re: SJ-NYR
Nah I got plenty of cap space left even after adding him. My ask would be a lot higher lol
Re: SJ-NYR
9 million dollar Skinner isn't worth a whole heck of a lot. Would have to be a ppg player to be worth it. Doesn't pk, doesn't hit... He's a great player for a rebuilding team... that's about it.KapG wroteCOLONNah I got plenty of cap space left even after adding him. My ask would be a lot higher lol
Re: SJ-NYR
When u get a player that can potentially come back and throw up a point/game (or even 50 points) for a 3rd+6th, and you have cap room, I think you hold that player, unless u get a good offer. Cap space doesn't do anything unless you use it.
Nice pick up, kapg.

He’s 28 and the cap will go up once covid is done.Da_Hawks wroteCOLON9 million dollar Skinner isn't worth a whole heck of a lot. Would have to be a ppg player to be worth it. 30-40goals is 30-40 goals. I’ve also heard stuff like that for soooo many of the guys I’ve traded the last year and a bit. Typically get what I’d like when I choose to move someone. Just need to exercise patience tbh. Cap space helps too
He hits every offensive category pretty damn well and there are lots of them. You’re underselling his value afaic. If he has a bounce back season plenty of ppl will be interested in him. You’re out to lunch if you think otherwise. Lots of excellent squads in here have lots of deadweight when it comes to cap hits. I can swallow those up making a 9milluon dollar skinner manageable.
Anyways, all I paid was a mid-late 3rd and a 6th. That’s absolutely nothing

Thanks Matthew. This is basically how I view it also. No brainer trade. Foof was nice enough to send an inquiry my way which I really appreciatedMatthew wroteCOLONWhen u get a player that can potentially come back and throw up a point/game (or even 50 points) for a 3rd+6th, and you have cap room, I think you hold that player, unless u get a good offer. Re: SJ-NYR
Like DaHawks pretty much said, he's a good piece for a rebuilding team. Hard to justify his contract for any team trying to contend. He pretty much needs to play with Eichel to play like the elite player his contract says he is. He's unfortunately probably stuck trying to provide secondary scoring for the 2nd line. We shall see.Matthew wroteCOLONWhen u get a player that can potentially come back and throw up a point/game (or even 50 points) for a 3rd+6th, and you have cap room, I think you hold that player, unless u get a good offer. Re: SJ-NYR
That cap is an anchor but I would expect him to get up past 25 goals again so definitely could be worse. Good potential buy low if you can stomach the cap. And if he continues to suck, he’ll likely be bought out... then a much better BBKL piece (a la Bobby Ryan)
Re: SJ-NYR
I have 10 mill or so of cap space left still off the top of my head. Even with the brutal season he was having last year he was pacing for 26 btwHandsome&FairMike wroteCOLONThat cap is an anchor but I would expect him to get up past 25 goals again so definitely could be worse. Re: SJ-NYR
Who is buying out that contract? That said, it's a fine buy here, but his market is limited to teams with cap space that are rebuilding or middling and can afford to spend cap on an inefficient player like Skinner. And it will probably continue to be that way.Handsome&FairMike wroteCOLONThat cap is an anchor but I would expect him to get up past 25 goals again so definitely could be worse. Re: SJ-NYR
My market for him was small and most who I talked about with him essentially wanted payment on top to take him on. Removing him solves my cap problem in one swoop. No contender can fit him without moving money back. If he rebounds and/or gets bought out eventually bu Buffalo then his value can only go up. But I paid little to acquire him and he solves all my problems instantly right now with this. No brainer from my side.

Yours was fair. I'm just being lazy and know I won't have time to cut an additional 4-5m afterwards. And pay a certain player.Malette18 wroteCOLONI feel attackedfoofnik wroteCOLONMy market for him was small and most who I talked about with him essentially wanted payment on top to take him on.
