Us trying to get over the finish line with this crisis is frustrating because the longer it goes on and the more political it gets, people are going to talk themselves out of this being an actual issue because of where they stand politically instead of addressing this head-on as a true healthcare crisis that needs proper attention. Because it doesn't kill everyone that gets it, it somehow becomes a non-issue.
Regular citizens vote politicians into office and then complain about what they're doing but I wouldn't trust any regular person to make tough decisions. There is a difference between getting canceled because you say and do something that offends someone, and getting canceled because you say and do something that results in deaths in the community.

If we dug up everyone's deepest thoughts and hottest takes, a lot of people would out of work.
Doing the right thing shouldn't be difficult but being wrong isn't a crime. There's a lot of stubborn people out there and this was a bad time in our history to have this happen and expect people to stop thinking about themselves first.
If you do the right thing and you and those close to you avoided the worst of this, that's your reward. At the same, there's probably a lot of people who don't follow every guideline and haven't gotten it either.

The race to the "who can be more woke" contest is getting old. I could barely log in to Twitter for a period because all of the content was "OMG hockey player did/said things a normal hockey player does/says"Shoalzie wroteCOLONWhile I don't agree with his stance, I'm really getting tired of cancelling people who don't agree with you. Let a person be wrong or have a different opinion...enough with the thought police. Right or wrong, there's a lot of people who are tired of the virus or don't believe in what's being done. Let everyone have a voice...even if they say something you don't like. Ignorant people are allowed to be ignorant in a free society.
Sorry, my libertarian side is coming out now...I'm tired of politics bleeding into everything.

Having a wife that is a physician, I will absolutely call you a selfish cunt if you ignore mask mandates. With underlying health issues, she could absolutely die if she gets this virus. Fuck this singer, and fuck you too if you think that type of behavior is acceptable.

people in Korea, which out-populates Canada as a whole by 14.1 million and while at about roughly 100 times smaller in land mass than Canada, one not wearing a mask in public will be reported + jailed immediately.

Nhl hoping to begin January 13th with a 56 game schedule.
how many matchups we have would depend on how spread out those 56 games are. If it's over 18 weeks, we could have 14 weeks reg season and 4 week playoff. That would give us 14x4 for 56 matches (just like the nhl).

Plans to realign divisions? I don't see a reason to do it, other than a fun change for a year.Matthew wroteCOLONhttps://www.tsn.ca/nhl-nhlpa-no-longer- ... -1.1561254

I’m all for a 2 conference setup vs 4 divisions personally. Could really just have a league wide standings without conferences...

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
I guess we need to decide how much of this format we want to replicate or do just adapt our 82 game model in fewer weeks and we end with perhaps twice as many matchups each week?
Our playoffs will occupy the final 4 or 5 weeks of an NHL regular season...how many weeks would our regular season last? And then how many "matchups" do we want each week to either reach 56 games like the NHL or go with a traditional 82?

Team Canada just released 5 players from camp based on health related reasons.

Pediatrician. She has her own clinic and also sees newborns in the hospital. She constantly has to wear an N95 mask and has a spacesuit getup for the hospital(s). Interesting man - That's good that they have access to that level of PPE (wish we did... issue up here is sustainable supply). We only wear surgical masks and faceshields for non-aerosolizing procedures (which is up for debate), but good news is none of our MDs have contracted the virus in the 8 months we've been dealing with it in the ED. Goes to show simple measures make a huge difference, even in high risk settings.Tony wroteCOLONPediatrician. She has her own clinic and also sees newborns in the hospital. Measures and people who are actually following those measures. I also work at a hospital, and we had a huge outbreak because the patient`s families were being stupid and brought in the Covid, which exposed the nurses poor practices, which led to a very long and awful outbreak. Luckily the staff learned. Hopefully.Handsome&FairMike wroteCOLONInteresting man - That's good that they have access to that level of PPE (wish we did... issue up here is sustainable supply). Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Just had some N99 masks delivered to the house today for the family. But they cost a pretty penny. Figure it's worth it to not have any of us deal with covid or its long term issues.
