The schedule of matchups is still being worked on and it'll be available either later today or early next week. The matchups you see on Fantrax are not the official matchups.
We've completed the waiver draft and here some other important dates to keep in mind for this first week of the season:
Monday, January 11 -- Free agent claims (start at noon Eastern); Roster submissions (deadline at 10:00 p.m. Eastern)
Tuesday, January 12 -- Waiver wire opens at noon Eastern (all waived players from roster submissions go on the wire)
Wednesday, January 13 -- Opening night of NHL 2020-21 season
***Important note: the first NHL game starts at 5:30 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday (Flyers vs. Penguins)***
Offseason Drops (you can drop contracts up until the roster submission deadline on Monday night; a new in-season drop thread will be posted for unsigned players after Monday) http://bbkl.ca/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=16017
Contract Slides (all sliding contracts don't count towards the 50 contract limit; you must activate the player in this thread to use their contract and play them in your lineup for this season) http://bbkl.ca/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=16245
If you're submitting your rosters early (today or tonight), let me make sure your positions are correct. I don't plan to look at anyone's submitted rosters on Google until tomorrow night so feel free to make updates if necessary.
The positions you see on your Google sheet will be the final positions that will be on Fantrax. We'll work our way through updating the "C,W" players. Make sure you match your lineup on Google with Fantrax and it'll get squared away.
I'll just make a general statement to everyone...if you're waiting for a free agent to sign a contract, you might not see that happen until after tonight.
For me I'm anticipating Cory Schneider to sign as the Islanders' third goalie. He won't be on my roster submission as a contract but by Wednesday, I figure he'll sign by then and I leave a spot open on my bench for him.
If you have an RFA who hasn't signed or there's a player on a PTO at a training camp...those aren't actual contracts that you can use. Fill out your lineup without those players. If you want to, put a waiver exempt player in your lineup for today and after the player signs, swap them out to go into your Week 1 lineup.
For today, you just need to submit a legal lineup where you're under the cap/over the floor and not carry over 50 contracts and 90 players. Remember, roster submission is not necessarily your Week 1 lineup.
There's a separate sheet for Week 1. You can reuse your submission lineup for Week 1 if you make no changes to your team. Free agent claims start at noon today and waivers opens up tomorrow at noon.
Reminder, today is the last day you can drop a signed player.
Free agents probably aren't going to sign until Wednesday, as teams are waiting to use LTIR. As Scott mentioned, do not depend on these for roster submission.
His previous deal was a 4-year deal that he signed with Toronto that expired last season. Currently he's on a tryout with the Islanders. He's not officially signed with the team but you can anticipate he will.
As of last night, I'm caught up on who is under contract. Cam Johnson, Del Zotto and Claesson signed with new teams and Bratt got a new deal with the Devils. Anyone that signs during the day today and is on CapFriendly, I'll get that updated as soon as possible.
I'm purposely waiting until tonight to post my roster in case any new contracts happen during the day.
Sorry...I was finishing up a phone call around noon. Didn't mean to delay the start of claims. The thread is unlocked so have at it. I'll add these guys to your Google roster today.
Several teams missed the submission deadline. Only teams that submitted rosters before 10:00 p.m. will be on today's waiver wire. The complete list will be posted later this morning.
If you haven't already, please submit your initial roster even if you didn't meet last night's deadline.
If you submitted your roster last night, I locked "Preseason" and you now have access to "Wk 1".
If you want to reuse you lineup from submission, just check the box in the top left corner. The only thing you'd need to do on the sheet is check off any players on LTIR. The names will appear in IR but the LTIR is a separate operation.
