Expansion Trades
Expansion Trades
Well, now that deadline has closed, I have a better idea of how everyone's rosters will shape up for the Expansion Draft. I'll be going through all the teams to make my own little mock draft. Obviously I may be biased and leave some nice names unprotected, so I may end up with a super team, but that's for me to drool over.
Some teams have some big names that may be exposed in the draft and I expect those teams may reach out to see what protection costs or to sway me in a certain direction. I am open to all talks and welcome any and all creative trade ideas. Hit me up over the next bit and maybe we can work something out.
Looking forward to watching these playoffs and the upcoming off season!

Oh baby have I got a player for you.... (please take one Colton Sceviour), he is very nice
Re: Expansion Trades
That's a super tempting player to take. Definetly better than most of the other scrubs on your team.thom54 wroteCOLONOh baby have I got a player for you.... (please take one Colton Sceviour), he is very nice

Re: Expansion Trades
I was hoping to have an expansion protection sheet ready for you guys before the trade deadline but they'll be ready before the end of the NHL season. We'll have a brief trade period between the end of the Cup Finals up until when teams need to submit their final protection lists (date TBD).
Looking forward to another expansion draft and I'm glad the 2021 Entry draft isn't being delayed so we can roll right into that after Seattle drafts their first players.
We still need to find a GM replacement for the Islanders before we get too late in this process.

Re: Expansion Trades
let him have isles
without him we can't run leagues
Besides sjs is a better team to recruit for than nyi

Re: Expansion Trades
Does he want the Islanders or does he just want the identity?
Re: Expansion Trades
The problem has always been I want my assets to come with me, that's where it gets gray, and I can understand that it could shift things unfairly. Current NYI is a disaster. Basically Mantha, Hanifin, Frost, and garbage with no 1sts for the next 2 drafts either.

team name, not the assets (or lackthereof)Shoalzie wroteCOLONDoes he want the Islanders or does he just want the identity?

We've done identity swaps in the past and teams have rebranded. I think Shep used to have the Hartford Whalers because I want to say early on in the BBKL's existence nobody wanted Ottawa...this being a Leafs fan league originally.
I'm open-minded to stuff like that but it's not entirely my call. It's not much work to change things around.

of course, that makes sense.foofnik wroteCOLONteam name, not the assets (or lackthereof)Shoalzie wroteCOLONDoes he want the Islanders or does he just want the identity?

Re: Expansion Trades
Didn't we talk about this in the past? Tony is a Sharks fan and I think we talked about doing an identity swap between Josh and Tony so they could have their favorite team name but keep their assets.
Re: Expansion Trades
I believe it got nixed because it would change division and conference dynamics. He was a playoff team and I was tearing down what I inherited at that time. The semantics of changing team names and whatnot would take mere minutes, that part is easy.Shoalzie wroteCOLONDidn't we talk about this in the past? Re: Expansion Trades
I actually think NYI is in better shape than Vegas.
Broberg
Suzuki
Holloway
Mantha
Hanifin
Frost
Ferraro
And some pieces like Erik karlson, skeij, tanev, zaitsev, that he could get some decent assets for.
Outside of picks and 1 or 2 players vgk are pretty bare.
Seen a lot worse rosters than these two tho.
Not to mention nyi are in a much easier division, so the turnaround could be faaarrrr quicker to get back to the playoff picture.
I think if u took this nyi roster and put them onto sjs, then the person getting the "new sis" is in a far worse position than they would be with the assets they have in their current division.
