Seattle is open for business
Re: Seattle is open for business
So with only 4 days left before protection lists are due, I figured I'd give a rough schedule of how things are going to go for me.
June 12th - June 15th: Will listen to final trade offers
June 16th: Will begin finalizing my draft list
June 17th - June 18th: Will begin announcing our roster, most likely one per hour starting sometime between 10am and 12pm on the 17th, get through as close to half as I can get and then the rest starting on the 18th around 8am (all times are Central timezone)
Any trades associated with selections will be announced along side the associated selections of that team in the team selection thread and also posted in the Completed Trades thread (or whatever the thread is called) to be confirmed by the other GM.
The format of my posts will most likely be similar to how Vegas posted their selections, showing players that got protected, other players that were considered with the selection.
Hopefully this all goes smoothly. If there are any suggestions or concerns, please let me know. I'm looking forward to finally having a team!

Since you aren't allowed to make trades once you've put out the 1st selection, deals will need to be posted before you make your selections. Otherwise some teams are given trade leverage over other teams in expansion.DApolloS wroteCOLONSo with only 4 days left before protection lists are due, I figured I'd give a rough schedule of how things are going to go for me.

The trades I'll be announcing will already be finalized. I won't be making any other trades after I make my first selection.

Yeah, David was asking me about what to do with these trades and when to post them. He might as well announce all of those moves before getting into the selections. Or at least those deals aren't final until after the draft is over. Trade activity is essentially on hold while he's making his selections but he'll have those deals in place. Once the protection deadline has past, you might as well post those deals regarding exposed players or just save them until after the draft.
I trust the deals are set so it's just a formality to post them and make them official.

Re: Seattle is open for business
I can't announce some of the trades without revealing some selections, so if someone can let me know how to approach that, please let me know. I'm not going to do any negotiations, just want to announce my draft list how the NHL did the Vegas draft IRL, you know, the whole "we have a trade to announce" bull. Everything I'm doing is technically within the rules, I'm simply announcing the deals during the draft as those trades become relevant.
Re: Seattle is open for business
To clarify, the moment I begin my selections, everything is locked down. The trades I'm announce cing during the draft will already be finalized. I can send timestamped screenshots of messages if the CC is worried about any "collusion" or "rule breaking". Everything will be done by the rules, this is just how I want to do my announcements. Nobody will have any advantage. If you would prefer, I will wait till post draft to announce the trades in the Completed Trades thread, but I don't see any issue making my announcements the way I'm planning.

I think this is fun and interesting. Looking forward to it.
Re: Seattle is open for business
Tomorrow is the last day before things get locked. As I see protection lists getting posted, I'm beginning to lock selections so the longer you wait, the less flexible I become in being able to make deals.

TODAY IS THE DAY! Protection lists are due this evening, let's talk, even if it's about someone else's players

Keen to see who you pick man!
Re: Seattle is open for business
Is there a draft order for teams or just Seattle just randomly announce who they are taking.
Re: Seattle is open for business
Should be fun either way
Re: Seattle is open for business
The order will be random. I'll stick all the teams in a randomizer and make tweaks to spread out the announcement of the deals that have been made.bills09 wroteCOLONIs there a draft order for teams or just Seattle just randomly announce who they are taking.
