You are a rebuilding team giving up younger assets for older pieces that serve no purpose to you. For me, that's a loss.kimmer wroteCOLONran out of things to say for the purpose of factless rebuttal lol. its k

Maybe you'll salvage the trade by flipping Shats and Sorokin for a better return. That's possible. Maybe Askarov busts. Also possible. IMO, right now and at face value, you lose.

Re: CAR/DAL
I don't see much point in criticizing this move from either side and it's almost a deal that would've worked great for both teams if it wasn't made. It's one of those trades where all players involved look good right now. Askarov is playing well in Russia...we're seeing more and more guys coming over from Russia and transitioning well into the NHL (Sorokin being one of them).
Shattenkirk is probably a sell-while-his-value-is-up kind of player. Sorokin is the type of goalie anyone would want in fantasy...other than the fact he's probably going to share starts with Varlamov when he's fully back. The Islanders have had goalie platoons for years. Plus, Paul is fortunate for the fact Quick is playing well so maybe he can flip him at some point.
Will is getting excellent player from Kyrou and Oleksiak has become a very steady categories defenseman in fantasy. He's loaded with young goalies so he can be very patient with Askarov.
