Re: GDT - Week 11
Just looking at my roster on Fantrax...I'm seeing Anaheim, Boston, Calgary, Carolina, Colorado, Edmonton, Florida, Montreal, N.Y. Rangers, San Jose, St. Louis, Toronto, Vancouver, Winnipeg won't even play a game this week...I know there's more. I know the Red Wings are out as well.
There's a lot of players in protocol but with so many teams out of action...good luck filling out a lineup this week. Rough math is showing me maybe 8 active skaters and Talbot in goal for me this week.
Everybody have a happy (and safe) holiday. My wife caught Covid a couple weeks ago. The three of us all stayed home for a week or so for quarantine but thankfully I had no symptoms and I tested negative to go back to the office. My 3 year old had some symptoms but he also tested negative.

Re: GDT - Week 11
There's a good chance we see a brief shutdown of the league and I don't expect them going to China in February.

How sick was your wife Scott? and did she have the variant?

Re: GDT - Week 11
No idea what strain she's got. I don't think she ever had an elevated temp but she had a pretty rough cough and she'd get the chills at night. At this point, she's still technically Covid positive but her symptoms are less and less noticeable. She works at home already so this hasn't been much of a disruption for her.
For context, she got the Pfizer shot and I got Moderna. Neither of us had our boosters yet. I think where she caught is there's pocket of her family who are a little too right-leaning and don't believe in the vaccine and she probably caught at a bridal shower with those family members around. She was showing the strongest symptoms going back to (U.S.) Thanksgiving and before she found out about her anti-vax relative tested positive, we already spent the holiday with my mom. Thankfully, she didn't get sick.
Funny thing for me going back to Thanksgiving, I've been fine. I tested once and it came back negative. I've been relatively healthy for the month since she came in contact. My 3-year-old never got all that sick and he did test negative after a week of being home. He goes to daycare and he couldn't go back until they got confirmation of a negative test.

Even if it's a small number of games for Monday through Thursday...you've gotta give teams a chance to adjust to the latest postponements and callups. That's why merging Week 11 and 12 makes more sense.
We're going to an interesting decision to make with the weeks during the Olympic break. If the NHL doesn't go and they schedule some of the makeup games during that time, we'll have to include those weeks into our schedule.
Re: GDT - Week 11
Agree to merge week 10 and 11.
Re: GDT - Week 11
I’m ok with a merge

Re: GDT - Week 11
Now that I think about it, it makes sense to just tack these games onto last week. NHL rosters could look a lot different whenever play resumes after the holiday break. I think we're down to single digit games for Monday through Thursday.
Re: GDT - Week 11
so who's going to make the merge? and should we dress our lineups assuming there is indeed a merge?
Re: GDT - Week 11
We can just say it is done, and merge the two tonight after the week begins?kyuss wroteCOLONso who's going to make the merge? and should we dress our lineups assuming there is indeed a merge?

Re: GDT - Week 11
Is that how it works? I just was looking through settings and I didn't anything on how to combine the weeks. I always assumed we were stuck with the periods Fantrax had setup.
Re: GDT - Week 11
well my lineup would be quite different if it is for the next 2 weeks rather than this one only, and I probably won't last long before going to bed...

I meant 11 + 12, not 10+11Shoalzie wroteCOLONMatthew wroteCOLONSo are we going to put 10+11 together or no?
