Re: Trade: STL/COL -- The Storm
Shep call be crazy buddy but essentially you had two offers on the table:
Offer 1: Patrick Sharp Alexander Burmistrov Evgeny Dadanov
Offer 2: Johan Franzen + Tomas Fleischmann + Manny Malhotra + Clark MacArthur + Blair Betts
Why you chose offer 1 escapes me.

I don't understand either, Shep is a contender, with that in mind you would think offer 2 makes the most sense.SuperMario wroteCOLONShep call be crazy buddy but essentially you had two offers on the table:

Re: Trade: STL/COL -- The Storm
Sharp is the best player and Burmi the best prospect, why take bulk?
Solid trade boys.

Agreed.SuperMario wroteCOLONworst analysis everfacey wroteCOLONSharp is the best player and Burmi the best prospect, why take bulk?

By that logic, a trade such as:
Pavel Datsyuk
Alexander Burmistrov
for
Patrick Sharp
Phil Kessel
Matt Cooke
Andrew Ladd
Jeff Carter
John Mcfarland
Dylan Mcilrath
is a good one...

Well I never (for worse or for better) would have taken shivs offer if I wasnt trying to improve my goaltending. I told shep before we were even into trade talks I didnt like the deal I ended up taking and told him after that I will only like it if I get my goalie afterwards. The only reason its worth while for me is the other pieces that I got from shep, shivs deal alone didn't imo. I told shep I was going to probably end up taking it while we were discussing the trade as well. In fact it was probably kareem that talked me into doing the deal with shiv anyway, I didn't want to when the parise deal was first on the table.

Re: Trade: STL/COL -- The Storm
With Parise's raise in the summer, there is no way I'd be able to keep him. I got a great H2H point-getting in Sharp along with a high-end prospect.
I said I had two things I would want. Two 60-70 point versions of Parise. Or one of those and a very high-end prospect that is good in the periphs.
I got version two. Although I had to add a bit, soft 50 point players like MacArthur and periph players like Betts are a dime-a-dozen.
Fuck it!

Re: Trade: STL/COL -- The Storm
I figured a Parise @ $3.1mil that is hurt will be worth more than a $6.5mil Parise that missed almost an entire season, after he signs his new contract.
And realistically, I am not a contender. Those who can't see that are semi-retarded. Look at my schedule, that's why I'm being deceived as good.
I tied Hong and now I'm getting crushed by Shiv. When I play anybody good, I get schooled.
My team has 4pts this week. Not sure what kind of contender does that.

You have more than me, does that mean I am not a contender?Snipeshow wroteCOLONMy team has 4pts this week. Not sure what kind of contender does that.
Just because you aren't there now, doesn't mean you cant get there. You were close, but much like MTL decided to throw in the towel, I will never understand that reasoning, but to each his own.
Re: Trade: STL/COL -- The Storm
Johan Franzen = the most over-rated player in the NHL, plus he's extremely injury prone, and not a complete h2h player. You can repeat that line for Tomas except he's not as gifted offensively.SuperMario wroteCOLONShep call be crazy buddy but essentially you had two offers on the table:

Why you chose offer 1 escapes me.
Manny is a good 3rd line centre, but one w/o any offence.
MacArthur is a nice piece and has been playing very well, and has an extremely friendly cap hit, Betts doesn't even dress every game, but good injury depth I guess.
Sharp is an elite h2h player, every skater category and he's a winger very reasonable cap hit. Burmi is already doing good things, seems to be datsyuk-lite. Dadanov has recieved little to no coverage, but looks fantastic and is already producing.
Both are worth considering, but I'd have taken the Sharp offer just like Shep did.
