You have more than me, does that mean I am not a contender?

Just because you aren't there now, doesn't mean you cant get there. You were close, but much like MTL decided to throw in the towel, I will never understand that reasoning, but to each his own.
I threw in the towel?

For this year I improved infinitely. Parise is out for the season, how does adding Sharp and Burmistrov not improve me now?

ignore kareem. he digs himself giant holes in these arguments then struggles mightily to save face. quite entertaining really. looking forward to his next post.

Throwing in the towel was the wrong phrase, but comparatively speaking the deal you turned down would have improved you far more than the one you made.

I also would have had to go out and clear about 6 million dollars in cap space to accept that deal from Shiv..

Normally I'd get into an argument, but I genuinely have no interest in you or your opinion, so I'm going to do the same thing I did with you on HF, and MSN, and ignore you.

Not necessarily, you could have then moved the pieces in Shiv's deal for something that better suits your needs, similar to what Shooker did.

Pretty sure the rule states that you cannot make a deal that puts you over the cap.

You don't confirm the deal, until the second one is in place, obviously.

Either way, Sharp is better than Franzen and I didn't want Flash.

Trading 2 dime a dozen players with Parise for a poor man's Parise and a top-flight prospect that is already doing a lot more H2H than many think.

Good enough for me.

SuperMario wroteCOLONShep call be crazy buddy but essentially you had two offers on the table:

Offer 1: Patrick Sharp Alexander Burmistrov Evgeny Dadanov
Offer 2: Johan Franzen + Tomas Fleischmann + Manny Malhotra + Clark MacArthur + Blair Betts

Why you chose offer 1 escapes me.
Johan Franzen = the most over-rated player in the NHL, plus he's extremely injury prone, and not a complete h2h player. You can repeat that line for Tomas except he's not as gifted offensively.

Manny is a good 3rd line centre, but one w/o any offence.

MacArthur is a nice piece and has been playing very well, and has an extremely friendly cap hit, Betts doesn't even dress every game, but good injury depth I guess.

Sharp is an elite h2h player, every skater category and he's a winger :) very reasonable cap hit. Burmi is already doing good things, seems to be datsyuk-lite. Dadanov has recieved little to no coverage, but looks fantastic and is already producing.

Both are worth considering, but I'd have taken the Sharp offer just like Shep did.

Betts hasn't missed a game...
