Nathan Horton, demoted to the third line today, left practice early because of discomfort, according to Claude Julien. The coach didn't specify what was ailing Horton. The right wing is traveling to Montreal and is considered day-to-day.

Looks like my hopes for a new Horton in Boston are slowly fading.....

He's either playing with an injury or upset about something, as he's left 2 games in the past 2 weeks, and has been cold as all hell in the past 10 games. Perhaps it's time you guys give him to the Leafs, then we'll be even on the previous trade.

JvR with a greaser just now.

Seems like Wolski is still living off lots of hype.

Don't get me wrong, he's got the skills. But he's probably the laziest and unmotivated player in the NHL.

He's less lazy, more motivated with 10x the skills.

You know that.

LOL....

You obviously haven't seen Wolski play much, he is as talented, with the edge in some areas offensively. That said Semin is unquestionably the better player, but he has also had the benefit of playing on the most offensive team in hockey.

P.S. Semin is just as lazy...

LOL..

You obviously haven't seen Semin play much. He could be on the most defensive team in the league, but he has the dynamic to do it all on his own. Ask Caps fans, they feel when Semin is in God Mode, he's better than Ovechkin. I agree. However, his inconsistency is what keeps him from being mentioned with Crosby/Ovechkin/Stamkos/Malkin/etc.

The skill is there, the consistency is not.

PS- I have seen Wolski play, moreso when he was on Colorado. He is not nearly as good as Semin.

This is 100% the truth. It's laughable imo that Wolski's even mention as close to having Semin's skill-set. Semin's natural skills are elite and only a few in the NHL can match it. But you're right, he makes stupid plays, is as inconsistent as they come, doesn't pass nearly enough, and likes to float out there at times. He's a frustrating player.. I love his one-on-one abilities, his laser beam shot, and he's really underrated defensively when he wants to play. Too bad his work ethic isn't that of a Sid because he could truly be a 50 goal threat year in and year out!

They dominate in different ways, Semin is the speedy sniper with easily recognizable skills, Wolski is slower, and does most of his work by protecting the puck, and making strong passes (when he is on) around the net. These skills are typically less recognizable by the common fan, and thus get less fanfare, also, as mentioned above he has twice played on teams that stress the importance of defense, and because of it has faced several benchings. You can argue that Semin would thrive on any team, but we have seen more talented players struggle on such teams, (*cough Kovalev and Kovalchuk cough*).

Semin is as good as he is, in large part to the team he plays for, on Phoenix I'd wager he would already be in the KHL. He doesn't play away from the puck consistently enough to make up for when he isn't scoring, and he won't have the likes of: Mike Green, Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom feeding him the puck.

Anyways, this wasn't meant to be a Semin V. Wolski debate, the point I'm trying to make is that Wolski's skill set is in the same class as other high level skill players.
