3. Trade Hudler for Nabby + something.

I'm not kidding.. Neel would probably want a major piece of my team and I'm not going to do that. I'd much rather pay major pieces for younger players/top picks and set myself up for next season and beyond. Nabakov's garbage and old balls. Giving up that major piece for Nabakov would ruin my chances at winning anyway so it makes more sense to tear it down..

If claimed on waivers by another team, Nabokov cannot be traded or waived again without DET having first option to take him back.

Maybe your scenario is possible shiv with the other team just waiving him again.
Edit: Correction all teams that made a claim would have preference, so if another team made a claim ahead of Detroit, the wings lose preference.
