Why? Unless there is something I'm missing, and there very well may be, I don't see the logic behind sending a non NCAA eligible/International FA/non draft eligible player into the waiver draft.Snipeshow wroteCOLONI thought non-NHL contracts go to Waiver Draft?

I don't know any of these rules. I just ask the boss.

So Jordie is playing in the AHL right? I do not believe he is signed to an NHL club, and as such he's not claimable.

Can we finally have something added to the CBA? This keeps coming up.facey wroteCOLONSo Jordie is playing in the AHL right? I do not believe he is signed to an NHL club, and as such he's not claimable.

Yes, we have established that. The real question is why? And more critically if this is a rule, where is it in the CBA?facey wroteCOLONSo Jordie is playing in the AHL right? I do not believe he is signed to an NHL club, and as such he's not claimable.
NHL teams sign amateur players to their NHL team everyday...If our goal is to replicate that authenticity of the NHL, and from what I understand, it is, than why is this aspect ignored? The whole intent behind the claim you cite above is to prevent the collection of NCAA eligible players, international free agents, and draft eligible players, so as to avoid illegal roster claims. The above signing meets all three conditions, and should thus be subject to a claim. To rule otherwise is nonsensical...
Re: [WAIVERS] Place claims Here
The CBA has not been updated from previous rulings, as the CBA indicates that doesn't mean its not a rule (but changes will be made soon, remember, all volunteers here).
Now regarding these signings: because we don't have FA, our waiver and entry draft are the two primary forms of adding value, and they favour the bottom tier teams (aight, so we have an issue that they all trade there pick's away, but nothing can be done about that...live and learn). I actually have very little opinion one way or another regarding the signing of AHLers, anyone with a two-way (aka NHL) contract would be claimable. However Jordie Benn only has an AHL deal, with no NHL side. I'd suggest this for a CC topic where some potential issues could be brought up, no one will be allowed to place any additional claims on AHLers and you will obviously have priority on Jordie Benn should the outcome be that AHL-only contracts can be claims, assuming of course that they don't violate any other signing regulations.

I don't actually care about Jordie Benn, of prime importance is that the CC look over this rule, I personally don't understand the logic behind disallowing the claim of one way AHL'ers.facey wroteCOLONThe CBA has not been updated from previous rulings, as the CBA indicates that doesn't mean its not a rule (but changes will be made soon, remember, all volunteers here).
