Heh you've been beating the "Savvy's done" drum for a while. I didn't want to agree with you while I had him. But from Mike's perspective, he has an oasis of picks where three 2nds mean jack all and he gets the chance for a long shot 2nd line center in the future.

You have rejected Anderson + 4 1st Round picks for Miller.
You have also rejected Anderson + Jokinen + Leino + Ryan Ellis for Miller.

I no longer want Miller lol. And I guarantee you will end up moving him for less ;).

I'd easily reject both of those deals too.

4 1sts and a goalie on a bottom 3 NHL team next year? No thanks.

Bums, a good prospect and a goalie on a bottom 3 NHL team next year? No thanks.

Shep, Steve, Scott. Be fair. Paul's team could do wonders with 4 1sts and an NHL goalie coming back. If the same offer was made to one of your teams I understand. But Paul's team is clearly a builder. the 4 1sts would be huge for him.

By the way, one of the 1sts would have been #7. That is nothing to sneeze at especially for a team like Paul's that need to add assets by the numbers.

you're right. your team couldn't use 4 1st rounders one of which is in the top 10. And like I said I'm no longer interested in Miller ;).

I wasn't arguing, I said I thought the offer was fair, esp the ellis one.

building is nice, 1st's are fun, but top end goalies are hard to come by, and give any team the odds for 4 categories every week.

Carolina will not win this year. Nor will it win next year. Nor will it win the year after IF value-gaining trades are not made. I think this is a concept that plagues a few teams in BBKL and other gms should stop encouraging it. These teams get stuck where they are because not enough trades are made to make gains. Making 2 trades a year will never lead to a championship unless you are already an elite team.

That's why my team is worse than the first year.. I got lazy and don't ever initiate legit trade talks.
