Every single player is a risk to slump in his sophomore season, not just Michael Grabner and Jimmy Howard...Jesus Shiv.SuperMario wroteCOLONI love how his cap hit is 1.4M for ONLY two seasons lol. Two seasons is a long time. And Skinner is in a prime position to avoid the sophomore slump. This isn't a situation like Jimmy Howard for example or Michael Grabner even where there is more risk due to immense depth/uncertainty etc. Skinner will see 18-20 minutes a game, with time on the PP with Eric Staal. My bet is Skinner can have one of the biggest sophomore seasons by any rookie in recent memory.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONSkinner is only at 1.4 for two more seasons, one of them the dreaded sophomore season. After that stretch he is going to be making as much if not more than Kane, assuming his production from last season holds up.

not skinner lol

I agree. He is bigger, stronger and faster than his competition there is no way he could possibly slump.SuperMario wroteCOLONnot skinner lol
...oh wait.
Re: PIT/CBJ Sedins are done in Pittsburgh
Skinner, Hall, Grabner, Couture, Carlson, Subban, Fowler, PieT (and not in that group, but Bickell, Aulie, MacJo) @ least 2 of them will slump, and most won't improve as much as people expect. Of course 1 or 2 of them will explode as well, anyone feel like betting against Hall?
There really is no formula for predicting the slump, although end of season play/playoffs is normally a bit of an indicator. Skinner finished hot after looking like they were slowing down near the end of the season - hard to read. Subban, Fowler and Carlson took it to another level in the playoffs... Hall got hurt just as he was really beginning to look AWESOME, and of course PieT looked rather poised at the WC, Skinner looked good next to JT as well. It's tough to call and the furthest thing for predictable.

Grabner will out score Skinner by at least 15 points.

Jeff Skinner doesn't belong in the same sentence as Taylor Hall.SuperMario wroteCOLONI love how you guys give grabner and hall respect but not skinner. Rookie of the year. All star lol
Re: PIT/CBJ Sedins are done in Pittsburgh
a) Dude, how did I not give Skinner respect?
b) Grabner is the one I give less respect to.
c) Hall has gotta be the safest bet by some margin, no?

Re: PIT/CBJ Sedins are done in Pittsburgh
I think Hall and Couture would be the safest bets imo. Hall because he has more skill than anyone else on that list and Couture because I believe his game is too well rounded for him to disappear.
Re: PIT/CBJ Sedins are done in Pittsburgh
Oddly enough they are also the two injury risks.

agreed. #1 and #2 have to be Hall and Couture. But Skinner is a very close #3.

Logan Couture is actually someone I can see having a sophomore slump.

That guy seems to have a good head on his shoulders...very composed and mature for a young player. I think he can take on more responsibility with that Sharks team given his attitude and confidence. He definitely didn't look like a rookie in the playoffs last year. He's a volume shooter and is smart around the net...he's a 30-40 goal guy annually in my view.

You don't need to tell me about Logan Couture...I've been watching him before most of you knew the name (I'm a diehard 67's fan). I just feel with increased responsibility comes increased pressure, and it wouldn't surprise me if he slumped with all of that added pressure on him.Shoalzie wroteCOLONMSP4LYFE wroteCOLONLogan Couture is actually someone I can see having a sophomore slump.
