lol that's what I thought. I owned Lidstrom for a long time. I know exactly who is willing to pay what. Competing teams don't want to give up roster value for him. Building teams don't have a use for him. And even if there is a team that wants him, cap is always an issue. No reason for a team to hold Lidstrom unless they have a very good chance of winning this year.Mike wroteCOLON*Considers trading for a d-man he doesn't have room for out of spite*

its not that I dont like McKegg, but to say McKegg+2nd '12+2nd '13 is a great offer for Nick Lidstrom is laughable.

Re: Gregg McKegg for a D-Man
You are going to get to the deadline next year and realize that TBL, WSH, TOR, BOS, LAK, COL, STL, SJS, VAN will not want to give you a roster player for lidstrom. They will end up offering prospects + picks and the prospects will not be as good as McKegg/or the picks will not be as good. I know this because I held Lidstrom close to the deadline last year. Adding 6.2M in the middle of the year requires cap manipulation by a team to the point where too many pieces need to be moved. Not to mention a lot of teams (including myself) will more than likely get their asses kicked by teams like TOR, TBL, BOS, COL, STL. That huge risk is not worth paying drastically for a one year player. Shep landed Selanne for Jurco. My offer for Lidstrom is just as good if not better. Scott/Kareem/Steve are probably the only other ones who'd give ya value for him but Scott's got his Knights and I dont think Kareem and Steve have the cap room.bills09 wroteCOLONdoesnt mean im gonna give him to you for 2 2nds and a meh prospect....
But the worst part about this thread is that Lidstrom's valuation is being ridiculed when no one will more than likely make a better offer. And McKegg's being made out to be a joke. If you look at the trade history for what 2nd round picks sold for this year, things went full retard like they always do.
But if you manage to get more, hats off to you man.

As much as it pains me to say this, I concur.SuperMario wroteCOLONYou are going to get to the deadline next year and realize that TBL, WSH, TOR, BOS, LAK, COL, STL, SJS, VAN will not want to give you a roster player for lidstrom. Re: Gregg McKegg for a D-Man
'meh' is below 'medium' in my vocab.
Re: Gregg McKegg for a D-Man
"Meh" to me means not an absolute steal at 62nd overall. Good pick, absolutely, but no steal.
