It's a terrific trade for both guys. I think Shiv was dealing from his centre depth. Fantastic deal all-around. Really tried to get into the Toews sweepstakes with Vinny so I could get something younger back.

Ah well. Good job, boys.

Everyone is always willing to pay more once the deal is already done.

Nut up or shut up when push comes to shove.

I remember when people on a certain message board use to talk shit about me when I said I would take Louis Erikkson over Phil Kessel.

I still would to this day.

Nice trade all around, although I think shiv got the best value. Thats what you have to give up though to get big name players like Toews though.

It'll be interesting to see how Eriksson plays minus B. Rich though. Ribero is good but even then still isnt the same calibre. Also interested to see what happens with the rhumors that Cleary will line up besides Datsyuk. How both those situations far I think will decide who wins this deal.

Louis does about 1:21 shtoi/g. thats nice for a 70 point player, had 28 stpts too. Zajac has 2 min per game pretty much and 55% on the dot (707 FOW). Only 44 points last year but the entire devils squad had a down year. look for him to be back to his mid 60 point form.

Toews has 2 min per game shtoi pretty much and 56% (937 fow) and had about 76 points last year (26 stpts iirc). Cleary has a min shtoi and is like a 50 point player but is 33. He also added about 113 hits in 66 games. Good for just under two a game.

meh, i didn't have a chance to talk to shiv and make an offer for Toews..

one has to wonder why considering how Shiv raped me in the Malkin deal. :)

You still got the best player out of the deal and a guy who hasn't reached his ceiling yet. If you ever felt like it you could flip him for a huge return yourself too.

You make a good point about Louis. I personally think he is a solid player though and will excel without Richards just like he did with him.

No huge winner or loser though
