I'm not in this trade
Re: MTL - TOR Deal with the Devil
Goddamn, what a great trade for Mike (Sorry Chuck!).
Re: MTL - TOR Deal with the Devil
I dunno.. Toews is great and all but this is h2h fantasy hockey. I like this deal for Chuck as much as I like it for Mike because of his depth. It's a great deal all around...

^ Have you not seen Nielsen's H2H numbers? This is an easy win for Chuck, IMO.

It's a solid trade all around. Weiss and Ehrhoff are solid. But you should check Nielsen's stats. He is one of the biggest bargains in BBKL.hockeysense wroteCOLONGoddamn, what a great trade for Mike (Sorry Chuck!).

lol Scott, Kareem and I posting the same point 3 posts in a row.
Re: MTL - TOR Deal with the Devil
Gotta say I like this for Chuckster.
Mike has more than enough depth to make a trade like this, so it works well for both of them.

I've been eyeballing Belanger for awhile now, and haven't really thought about what I'd offer Chuck for him. Neilson... as much as I like his #s last year, do you all expect him to sustain those numbers? What about Ehrhoff? I think with Mike, he's getting consistency.
With Chuck, it's probably my own projections, but I don't know if Nielson and Ehrhoff can be consistent. I'm probably harbouring a little too much hate for both guys though.

Re: MTL - TOR Deal with the Devil
To me Nielsen was one of the top 2-way players last year. He plays both special teams and takes key faceoffs all over the ice. The guy potted 7 shorties last year so that has to tell you something; and his best asset is his cap hit of 525k. As for Ehrhoff his offensive game has been good for a while but its his defensive game that really come into its own the past couple years. Again another guy that will play both special teams and log big minutes in BUF. Plus a replacement 1st line C in Weiss who again plays both special units. If the guy could get a little support I think Weiss would really break out.hockeysense wroteCOLONI've been eyeballing Belanger for awhile now, and haven't really thought about what I'd offer Chuck for him. Ya, I'm not sold on Nielsen either but he showed no indications that he'd not remain consistent. He's just a good, all around player. Ehrhoff, I expect his numbers to drop too because of Ruff's system.. but who knows.. and how significant? I still think Ehrhoff's a 35-40 point Dman with solid periphes. Also, the sleeper here is Weiss too.. the guy's pretty solid and Florida should have a few more scorers to share the with. I like Weiss going in to the season.hockeysense wroteCOLONI've been eyeballing Belanger for awhile now, and haven't really thought about what I'd offer Chuck for him. Losing Belanger isn't that tough when you're bring in a younger C replacement in Nielsen. Ehrhoff and Weiss for Toews seems like a no-brainer to me too.. I mean, this isn't real life.. it's fantasy hockey.
Re: MTL - TOR Deal with the Devil
I didn't even know that Nielson was only making 525K - that definitely helps. Starting to see why Chuck did this now. Both men should be ashamed of themselves though. Not since Walmart Greeter and Long Face Gainey has a trade occurred between the two franchises. The Devil wroteCOLONYa, I'm not sold on Nielsen either but he showed no indications that he'd not remain consistent.
