I don't get it
Re: WSH/VAN
Pretty good. Kareem tried, but I didn't really feel anything.

Re: WSH/VAN
Like I told Chris on MSN, this is a deal everyone will criticize now, and applaud tomorrow. It took Chris quite a while to convince me to add the pieces that I did, so I obviously disagree with the general opinion that I raped. Both Tokarski and Allen are legit goaltending prospects who are close (Tokarski moreso) on teams with unstable goaltending, and Marincin's production speaks for itself.

Re: WSH/VAN
yeah if chris is patient this deal can definitely pay off
Re: WSH/VAN
As Kareem said, there's a method to my madness. There's absolutely no question that goaltending is a premium in this league, and if you look closely, York and Tokarski are in very good position to start within a year or two - or in Tokarski's case, perhaps as soon as this year. Tokarski's opportunity is literally one Roloson groin injury away from starting. That Roloson is on a one year contract makes this move more of a strategic investment than a value for value trade.
Marincin is an intriguing player - so I wanted upside vs. limited H2H peripherals. I can afford to wait a year or two with all these defensive prospects I have coming up in the system.
I refuse to trade a prospect or a 1st round pick for a one-year back-up. No sense in wasting an asset.

Re: WSH/VAN
I'd be surprised. But I think he stands a good chance against Vancouver, Calgary, Red Wings, Edmonton, Coyotes, Stars, Nashville, and it's a battle for the other teams in the Pacific.

Nick here (iPhone won't load account for some reason)
1. Deal is fine, risk for Chris and having to justify so many trades is not a good sign, you've gone from great tending to very shitty - just something to be careful of - if you understand tenders are a premium, well you've already said you've heard enough from me on that early stuff- but you are also aware of how big a risk any prospect is. Anyways. Just lots of post-hoc logic. Sure killed Shiv thought
2. Billy there is no way Anaheim's pick is top 10, the team is solid.

Yeah guess what, Karim is the master at "Do this deal now for my win, benefits for yours later" trades, and 1st round picks don't necessarily need to be moved for pieces mentioned in this trade. I've noticed that Chris does make quite a bit of these lose now win later trades and tries to justify it, but at the rate in which he, and all of us make trades throughout the year, there IS technically no fucking "later" or "future". 99% of us forget who we traded for and who we gave up, and value is bound to be lost in many of the subsequent trades.
