Re: The Stanley Cup Finals
Great series, those boys really deserved it, really breaks my heart to see Richies post game conference at the end though, the guy gave it his all, and thats a real tough way to lose, but Phili has a strong core, this won't be their last dance...
Hopefully the Leafs can make some smart offseason moves and get into the playoffs next season, god only knows how much we all miss it...

Re: The Stanley Cup Finals
Pronger shut him down in the finals, he was easily the best player throughout the post season, but not in the finals, IMO. If it were up to me the award goes to Duncan Keith.bills09 wroteCOLONI thought Johnathan Toews had a great game tonite, and had a good series, and was incredible prior.
Goals are not everything.
100% deserves Conn Smythe imo
Re: The Stanley Cup Finals
lol i was hoping the exact same thing...FUUUUUCKhong57 wroteCOLONpls pls plsss the game plsssss go to game 7 so i can watch it on saturday morning (fri night est) =((((
Re: The Stanley Cup Finals
I agree.. but Pronger and Keith and probably a few others (Briere, Sharp, Giroux) deserved it too. Toews did have an amazing playoffs. Big congrats to the Hawks!bills09 wroteCOLONI thought Johnathan Toews had a great game tonite, and had a good series, and was incredible prior.facey wroteCOLONWhat a great year IMO... (ignoring where the leafs finished)...awesome olympics, fun changes on the leafs, exciting hockey and IMO a very interesting playoffs. Really solid final series too.
Hawks had their year, would be incredible if they could work enough cap magic to keep this group together.
It wasn't a pretty finish, but it's not about how you get there. I'm still very impressed by the flyers, and I don't think they'll be getting shittier any time soon. After the first round I wasn't expecting anyone to control Sidney, but those pesky habs managed both Sid & Ovy.
Toews as MVP is a bit of a surprise to me, I guess they believed he earned it before this series, kinda hard for me to look past Keith or Pronger.... Most Valuable Player in the playoffs... Final series seems like the most important to me, and he simply wasn't the best at the end.
Super jealous of my friend Jordan, but not spiteful, he's not bandwagon & has been a hawk fan for as long as I've known him, notably rougher then being a leafs fan. Just don't want to talk to him for a couple of days... fucking prick.
I love hockey.

Now the Leafs need one.. Rangers did it after 50 and Hawks after 49 years.. trend maybe? God, I might be able to wait that long (6-7 years) lol

Re: The Stanley Cup Finals
The STF was a great series to watch, 20 cent scored a softy but a goal is a goal, Chicago deserved to win, on to the next season.
Re: The Stanley Cup Finals
Kane was just as good as Toews in the playoffs and had a much better SCF.

Re: The Stanley Cup Finals
What playoffs were you watching? Toews set a Hawks playoff record with consecutive playoff games with a point, and absolutely dominated the defensive half of the ice, no comparison between him and Kaner throughout the entire playoffs. Through the finals you have an argument, BUT remember Toews had to face Pronger the entire series, Kane was taken off that line because he couldnt handle Pronger...Snipeshow wroteCOLONKane was just as good as Toews in the playoffs and had a much better SCF.

Agreed.
Re: The Stanley Cup Finals
agreed... except i add another stage.
Pronger > Keith
(in the playoffs & regular season)... but he's rude to the writers and lots of former 'soft' players hate him... no recognition... i doubt he really cares though.
I actually kinda expected him to get the nod despite the loss, its happened before and I believe we saw a player who was the MVP even in a losing cause.

i can't remember.. when did that happen? who was the player?I actually kinda expected him to get the nod despite the loss, its happened before and I believe we saw a player who was the MVP even in a losing cause.
Re: The Stanley Cup Finals
giggy most recently... but the list is longer then that.

The player has to be extraoridinarily god like to take, the conn smythe in a losing cuase.facey wroteCOLONgiggy most recently... but the list is longer then that.
Re: The Stanley Cup Finals
Pronger was except in one game, if I take out that game I think he deserves it. But that game and the fact it wasn't pushed to 7 makes it IMO Keith or Toews Trophy.bills09 wroteCOLONThe player has to be extraoridinarily god like to take, the conn smythe in a losing cuase.facey wroteCOLONgiggy most recently... but the list is longer then that.
I thought Keith was better and more important than Toews in the finals, and overall the playoffs.
Stupid that only 11 people vote on it.
Re: The Stanley Cup Finals
stupid that they are a bunch of dweebs.
let the NHL GM's vote on it, no own votes.
