CHI/STL/OTT: The Day the Earth Stood Still...
Re: CHI/STL/OTT: The Day the Earth Stood Still...
Just FTR -> Markov isn't going to be ready for the start of the season.

Water in his knee because he started working out before it was 100% healed. Minor setback.
I'll still take any bet regarding BBKL stats or Mike's ranking if you're confident Jack Johnson is the Bobby Orr to Andrei Markov's Andy Wozniewski.
Not sure how this makes Johnson a better dman than Markov? Is Joel Ward a better player than Marian Gaborik because he can play 80 games?

That is sucky news, but as Shep alluded too it is a minor setback, nothing major.

Damn, I wish he was fat and lazy.Andrei Markov, who had the knee drained, reportedly sustained the injury as a result of training too hard for the upcoming season

I fucking hate it when a player with that much skill just throws it away with hard work and dedication...It's called Mcdonald's and TV fitnogeek!Shep wroteCOLONDamn, I wish he was fat and lazy.
Re: CHI/STL/OTT: The Day the Earth Stood Still...
LOL are you guys still trying to spin off Markov as having no concerns from recent injuries combined with his age?
Re: CHI/STL/OTT: The Day the Earth Stood Still...
I have no concerns. I offered to bet you with no GP clause and you refused, so. He's 32, it's not like he's a 50 year old playing in the NHL.Nick wroteCOLONLOL as you guys still trying to spin off Markov as having no concerns from recent injuries combined with his age?
It's true, if you are over the age of 25, you are a worthless dinosaur.

LOL NO, HE IS MADE OF GLASS, AND NOT THE DURABLE KIND EITHER.Nick wroteCOLONLOL are you guys still trying to spin off Markov as having no concerns from recent injuries combined with his age?
Re: CHI/STL/OTT: The Day the Earth Stood Still...
Who said he's made of glass? The fact is, he's had two debilitating injuries the last couple of seasons, and it's going to affect his ability to play at a high level. That his knees are clearly susceptible to future injuries makes this a very painful risk on Shep's part. I don't know why people can't seem to grasp that concept.

Re: CHI/STL/OTT: The Day the Earth Stood Still...
Easy there Kareem and Shep... I never called Markov a dinosaur or grandpa, there is no need to speak in extremes and ultimatums. You guys are acting as if there is no need to even CONSIDER the fact that he's had back to back injuries and as today's news just demonstrated, is a risk for more. The older players are the harder injuries are to come back from, now we're talking about b2b + a set back on a player who is 32/33; he's unlikely IMO to bounce back the way a 22 year old would, even without injury he's unlikely to be as good as he was when he was 28.
